I believe to transfer the GI Bill you’d have to do have 10 years and do it while active duty. Or 6 years in and agreed to do another 4 years while active duty. Also, a lot of veterans forget about VOC REHAB. If you got a VA disability rating you could be entitled. I applied and I am entitled to it. That is pretty much extending your GI Bill from 36 months to 48 months. I am starting Barber school next week using my GI Bill. My plan is to later use the my other 36 months left for a degree. Thanks for the videos!! I’m also a Marine and your videos keep me motivated.
Yeah you do.I just got out and applied and starting barber school in January. I took classes when I got out that to transfer you need to do do the things you listed so you are correct
Great information brother I forgot to include that in. Def makes sense for people to do that if they have a rating of any sort. It def helps. I’m currently trying to get into it
The question I have is how do they classify it? In standard college it’s semesters ( a clearly defined block of time) and barber school is contiguous… I’m asking because I have 7 days left, my point is with those 7 days the va still covers an entire semester which is 4-5 months (pre determined ie fall spring summer) but barber school isn’t really a “semester” so will I still get the same mileage (5 months paid for)? Thanks to anyone who has insight
You were a marine?? That’s dope bruh I’m an active marine right now so watching this is hella helpful, pls make another video going more in depth please 🙏🏽
I'm EASing next year from the Corps. During this whole COVID stuff I'ma have to cut my own hair and watching RU-vid to do so this weekend and out of no where, I just had a feeling that I wanted to give other people nice clean skin fades. So I started researching how to become a barber and it's good to know that gi bill covers barber school. Thanks for the vid man.
That’s awesome man, sometimes your new career sometimes find YOU. have some fun with your hair watch tutorials and then try it on yourself if you have no one. I’m sure you have fellow marines a lot that need haircuts and don’t care if you’ll practice on them. Own it bro here’s your chance to see if you like it bro! Yessir sweet gi bill bro thanks for watching here to help 🙌🏼
@@iamcesarq check out my RU-vid page! I actually recorded giving myself a cut. This was my 3rd cut and only getting better. I have practiced on a Sgt and the 1stSgt 😂. The Sgt needs me to clean him up again tomorrow for a photo so yeah super excited he's coming back to me! Good luck to you bro and keep grindin! 💯🔥💈
Hey Brother, thank you for your service and diligence to help fellow service members..My question is if my school is not approved on the GI comparison tool, can I still use my GI Bill if the school is willing to accept the GI Bill?
Hey brother. Im getting out the military here within the next 3-4 months. Which GI bill did u have? Post 9/11 or Montgomery? also how do i go about using them in barber school?
hey what's up brother the first step i recommend is talking to any counselors the schools have thats how you figure out what your next steps would be. i believe i used my chapter 33, which is the most beneficial to me simply because they pay for books and pay your every month. every school is different make sue to make the best choice for you! and don't forget to work on your disability !
I think I fucked up. I’m using my gi bill to attend cosmetology school but it stays only like 1000 in books and they sell this kit to you for like 2500 bucks and obviously that won’t be enough. Will I have to pay anything out of pocket for my school?
Usually you get book allowance as well as clothing allowance so that should pay for that. The kits are usually part of the tuition. Sometimes you can opt out of them tho! All you have to do is get em on your own, I hope you are doing well brother!
Do you know of any good sites to get grants? I'm going to school in a couple months and scrambling to get everything together. The VA will only give me 1200 a month. Appreciate the video bro.
Jacob Villegas sorry for the super late reply bro, honestly the best way is to actually go to a school and get information. It’s pretty easy the only hard part is finding the right one for you etc.
Im stuck trying to figure out why private barber school cost more than public school ie Florida barber Academy (14,995) vs Sheridan tech college barber training (5300) or JT’s cuts Academy (like 6000). Is cost a difference on what you get? Any differences
Soo i did the research on my own thru the benefits website. Some schools aren’t accredited..the ones that aren’t you can’t use your gi bill too (JT cuts academy, she has a brand new school). Ask. Sheridan tech is a public school which has other trade programs ...public schools I’m guessing have a cap on how much they can charge you (still don’t fully know). Lastly, Florida Barber academy (the school i chose because it’s the closest to home) is a private school like Paul Mitchell and has been around for 15+ years, FBA and Paul Mitchell both charge like double the amount of a public school.
Exactly brother glad you did some research, at the end of the day I believe what’s important is not the price but the education you get and what that school Will help you achieve 🙏🏼 best of luck my brother 🙏🏼
Alexis Adame Nava I was a 3051 warehouse clerk. Not sure I wanted to keep doing it lol but who knows maybe in the future if the pay is good. If not then meh
I enrolled on the 8th of October this month for barber school. My start date is November 2nd. Will I receive the housing allowance on the first of November or the first of December?
the best way is to talk to a counselor at whatever school you want to attend, its almost a step by step usually they'll literally give you all the info you need for your specific school
Tyler Scott I believe it was my post 9/11 gi bill it gives you money every month and it all depends where you live bro, all schools are different and cities
Oh wow a combat vet thank you for your service my hero, it’s pog by the way bro thanks for watching. And with that patience good luck with barber school bro lol
