I took a trip over to Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile Alabama to tour the USS Alabama. This was the first time I had ever been there and it was great! It's an awesome piece of American military history. While there I wanted to be sure to find the machine shop and any other metal working shops on board.
I will have a couple more videos from this trip to soon follow. After the battleship, we toured the USS Drone, a submarine on site. Also there was is an airplane hangar and some military tanks.
I'd recommend anyone passing though or in the area to stop in and see them for yourself.

I went there a few days ago, if you want to check out an updated photo montage you can probably find out on a website or I have a vid on it. That’s really cool though!

Nobody appears to have mentioned it, but for you landlubbers stairs are ladders or ladderways, halls are passages or passageways, and doors are hatches. Those "single rooms" are staterooms for the senior officers and that "nice dining room for the Captain" is the officer's wardroom.

I know I'm a bit late, but this was a great video Adam. I'm not exactly a plane enthusiast so much as a cold war history nut, but that plane you point out as you are driving in is a B-52, which the air force guys call the BUFF or big ugly fat fu...well you get the rest. I was born on, and currently live close to Grand Forks air force base up here in north dakota which was a massive bomber/ICBM facility back in the cold war. Back when I was a kid we'd go swimming at a lake and the air force base was on the way; we'd play a game in the car trying to count the tails of those B-52s as we drove by; none of us could ever count them fast enough. If I remember right there were around 150 B-52s plus around 300 ICBMS stationed up here at peak; they claimed the total size of the air force base counting all the ICBM sites was larger than the state of new jersey. There used to be so many nuclear weapons stationed up here that people would joke that if ND were to secede from the US it would be the third largest nuclear power in the world. Anyway, as a military history nut who's about as far way from the ocean as you can get, thanks for the great video showing the stuff I haven't had the pleasure of seeing before.

The sub is the USS Drum, not Drone. I used to visit these ships everytime the family came to Mobile to visit the grandparents.

Well im new to your channel but I gotta say you make great videos and have earned yourself another subscriber, ive been to that ship many times and it never gets old seeing the craftsmanship from the 1940s put into building such a great battleship.
