I'd chuck the White Ensign photoetch. It's clearly not engineered to work with the wood decking. Though I've never built the Arizona, I've had a lot of frustration with White Ensign on other ships. It will look good without the etch and just painted.
My 1/200 Arizona is missing 50 cal machine guns. Do you know where I can get replacements ? Also did you add rails to the 5 inch antiaircraft gun platform ?
Someone please explain: I can't see the idea for using the PE anchor plates even if they did fit perfectly. They get painted over anyway and seem to add a weird layer. On the actual ship the areas were the anchor chains grind around on must be below the wood decking so why include something that throws the proportions out??? But what do I know about PE parts ?
@@TheMidwestModelShop I'm thinking of setting the wood deck sections and adjusting to fit exact, then starting at one end glue the end, let it set and then continue the gluing process.
@@davidrasch3082 Whatever makes you comfortable. I just check the fit everywhere a couple times. You'll have to trim a couple areas slightly. I recommend, like you said, always starting at one point, when you check your fit. Its like practicing for when you glue it down. And as long as you coat the plastic deck AND wood deck with wood glue, you'll be able to make any adjustments that you may need. Its not permanent until the glue sets up.
@@TheMidwestModelShop thank you very much. Excellent vids and builds. Thank you for posting, more I watch the easier and better I get. Not to your standard, have to learn-patience which usually is a waste of time !
Mesothelioma it comes with PE railing, barrels for the main guns, anchor chains, and some other random details. If you watch the very first video in the series, I believe I cover what is included in the kit and I show you all of the extra parts I purchased.
So it’s possible they are out of stock. You can email them and ask or just be patient. I know producing decks for the Titanic and the California wild fires slowed them down a bit, this year.
thanks for showing me about the metal part to the bow this tells me the kit is not perfect I've just paid £350 for this kit when it comes to my home it's going right back a kit that cost that much should be perfect you should never cut or make things for it
