This is a great piece of work and offers inspiration for creating displays for other collections. You know it's great when you can't even put a price on it.
Thing of beauty. Could be in a museum. Do you adopt? You know what you’re doing, so take it as you will . . . You mentioned seeing top down vs risers . . . Is there a way you can use cameras to see ‘top down’? Could even make it so it appears-you’re seeing-top down from an aircraft! Trying to think outside/above box. Continue on. Again, masterpiece! Cheers
This is what I am talking about. Trying to figure this out for my tmnt collection. Want a tri city level diorama about 10 feet long. Trying to figure out how to make a cabinet with shelfs that long with no dividers.
This is just incredible Ryan!!! You've built so much more since we first saw it, wow!!! I cant wait for my son to see this video. He had a ton of these toys as a kid. Thank you for sharing this with all of us! ❤❤❤
Most impressive to say the least! Since you are open to improvisations i would suggest as some thematically consistent items the Hasbro Iron Man 2 army, navy, af &marines drones. As well as the Hasbro Stark tech assault armor particularly the red white&blue captain America version. Thanks for sharing!
Nice job, dear fellow. All those inside details in the carrier and the underwater base you added yourself individually, right? You got even the metal pans in the kitchen. Impressive level of detail. You need now to provide some support vessels for the carrier perhaps. A cruiser or destroyer made in the same standards. Perhaps a landing ship too to relieve the carrier deck of aircrafts as well. You can extend the table in the same patterns, perhaps making a bad guys base on the other table. Working wood alongside a 3d printer you can make yourself your own GI Joe sets. Kind regards!
This was one of the best displays I've seen, but I'm a bit confused by Dr Mindbenders lair. I remember him dying of Botulism, not ever switching sides.
Okay your display case reminds me of how K mart used to do thier display in their store. What you did is awesome. You gave a lot of awesome ideas for my flag .like you said you are always updating things so freaking awesome and you knock this outta of the ballpark.
@@ryguysci-fi1338 Yeah I can see that .That would time consuming look at what you have the attention to detail is top notch the elevator where rolling thunder is cool. You gave me a lot of cool ideas . Another question where did you find all of the consoles and stuff .I have found some stuff at Hobby lobby. Actually I have the tv and I took a piece of 2x4 and made a square hole in and router it out and made enough of a oval for the tv to sit in the 2x4 it is really cool haven't got a chance to display it yet.
Wow sounds awesome. eBay and Etsy! Ton of stuff I searched 1/18 scale GI Joe! It may take a bit of looking every time I looked I found new stuff… months of looking and new stuff pops up all the time. Only thing is it can be expensive!
You not only forgot the gym/weight room but ya got her bogged down with soo much clutter and theres heaps of overhead space, just hang the big birds and put more vessels in the "water" then place more figures into the "landing party". I dig how much more space you gave her but the flight deck ain't looking much better than the top of a dresser before getting the F.L.A.G.G. for Christmas lol. Cheers!!
Brilliantly beautiful work! I've been building a 1:18 scale salvage ship and visualizing a display base for it, you've gone ahead and actually built it!!! I'm inspired to move forward. Well done, bravo! Where did you get those great little floor hatches? I could definitely use similar for my ship.
Spectacular ! I don't understand what the bottom levels are ...extension of the Flagg or a cobra submarine ? Why does Dr mind bender have a space there and a B.A.T. in the mess? Not criticism. Genuinely interested.
So when I started building the Flagg. I knew I would need some sort of table to display it on. The table eventually evolved into an underwater base, and once I started building it I had already purchased several cool cobra piece. Dr Mindbenders lab had to be included! The idea is the Joes captured him and put him to work….lol thanks for the interest!
Oh my God man, that is straight up no b.s. f'n amazing brother! Would freak me out knowing any passer byer can see this priceless setup. I'd throw up a collapsible wall. Great craftsmanship. Lot of great ideas.... What did you use for the X-19's hanging support? I have some 10 lbs test fishing string just having trouble figuring out exactly what to tie off and anchor down to.
This is so cool! As a high-detail scale modeler, I have special appreciation for your commitment to detail. Though. I dont think any of the plans are getting off that crowded flight deck :)
No sir they won’t. lol, it’s just simply a fun thing to look at. The Uss Flagg is not even close to the 1/18 scale but who cares! Just a fun toy, I just added a bit more to it!
This looks amazing. Do you mind sharing how you made the blue glass? I’m customizing a Flagg myself and haven’t found any resources for this part of the customs I see. Any help is appreciated!
I got some transparent lens light plastic sheets then trimmed it to fit the openings it needs to be slightly over sized and used E6000 glue to hold it in place. There is one large and small window that has a bent window, I took a straight edge and folded the lens plastic to create a crisp line and bent it to follow the shape! Good luck!
@@ryguysci-fi1338 Couldn’t imagine such magnificent craftsmanship possibly coming at a bargain rate. Still, if the means are there, and you have it all( the vision, the talent, and the financial resources), then it is to the reward of all us 80s kids who can now dream of what could have been if only Hasbro had thought as grandly as you.
The Flagg, was it custom fabricated given the shorter length or ? Also, Dr. Mindbender, why is he on a Joe ship?? Just curious around the thinking! Awesome, truly awesome display/fabrication! I am gob smacked as the British say!
The Flagg is full length. The level under neath it full custom the table top is a total of 93” long and 43” wide. Dr Mindbender was captured, we have him in his lab with his experiments, showing what he can do…. But in all reality it was a cool lab and had to put it somewhere!
@@ryguysci-fi1338 Thank you. I am glad you finally captured Dr. Mindbender instead of leaving it to the CIA! I understand about the Flagg but was the top of the Flagg an original, or one you made to scale? Again absolutely awesome creation and a shout out from Toronto!
The Uss Flagg was bought new in 1984 by my uncle. It sat in his attic for 30 years. He saw some of my collection and asked if I wanted it. It is 100% original except for some slight updates. I did not modify anything else. Why do you ask?
@@ryguysci-fi1338 Just curious. I had thought an original one was longer but have never seen one in person. Again, my best wishes on your incredible talented efforts.
ABSOLUTELY EPIC !!!! SO IMPRESSIVE !!! Brilliant design sir !!! I can’t say enough, I don’t know where to start?!!! I will be checking out any other projects and videos you have. Speaking of dollhouses, I would like to make a building with a working Elevator. Any way you could make a tutorial on your elevator here? Just Tremendous, take care and Merry Christmas!!! PS: You are living the dream with that shop, really nice to see someone with an amazing interesting hobby putting great skills and a fantastic shop to work.
Hello, can you tell me were did you buy those assories. Like the beds, tables, auto parts. I am making my own aircraft carrier. It's nothing like your but, I am working hard on it. I would appreciate if you could respond to my message. Thanks
@@devonfaison8737 I found most of it on e-bay(chrisdortch) and others. Some from marauder gun runners. The auto parts come in kits for 1/18 scale garage dioramas. But I am always looking and constantly find new stuff on e-bay by searching 1/18 scale gi joe. Good luck with ur project!
3000 k LEDs warm not cool if you can track one. Your collection and your time invested will be in vain when you have improper lights degrading a magnificent collection and display. I'm not a GI Joe collector but my collection habits is just as pricey as yours and I thought I would help a fellow collector not step into that foley that all collectors find out later. I look forward seeing the finished display in your next video! @@ryguysci-fi1338
