This ship has one hell of a large profile, and many other problems. I think this program has been cut in favor of a cheaper, more reliable, offensive, and defensive capable frigate. The program was started in 2001, and I think they've only managed to complete 5 4 have been scheduled to be decommissioned this year.

@@mandoramirez1205 That is the question. The initial missions envisioned for the LCS has not panned out well. A new much more heavily armed LCS, designated as a "Frigate" will be built. The first four ships of the class will be decommissioned early while others will be given more weapons.
I think your right in suggesting more weapons will be added, it can't hurt and they can always use more of all calibers, and would also expand there rolls not to mention the ability to better defend themselves when the going gets rough, thanks for the reply, piece.

She will be decommissioned within three years. The LCS or Little Crappy Ships have been a DISASTER for the Navy. All the high tech modules that were promised for these ships STILL have not entered service 13 YEARS after the first LCS entered service. These things are floating deathtraps for the poor crew assigned to them.

Not to be rude but the Independence class of warships is very controversial. They have issues with movement and the weapons systems seem weird. If it's suppose to be made for stealth, there's no point because once you shoot a gun or missile you are seen. What I'm saying is that the Navy really needs to do better in how the ships are built and the cost because they are all wrong

Those 6 guys on the color guard are her ENTIRE minimally manned crew right? Can we watch her CORRODE during the ceremony? LCS is a DISASTER and is a classic example of EVERYTHING wrong with the 'designed by committee' to do everything BADLY and nothing well! Will she have one of the module bays filled with a BARRACKS module so she can have enough crew to even man standard underway watches? Let alone do ANY of the normal maintenance REQUIRED to keep seaworthy? LCS class ships will set a new record this year, with FOUR ships (out of 32) to make an ACTUAL DEPLOYMENT over seas! (all of the them either from port to port, or accompanied by a tender). Last year was also supposed to be a record (FOUR SHIPS) but they COULD NOT DO IT!!!!
