As an American, I know I am supposed to dislike the Soviet Union, but deep down I don’t feel hatred. The Soviet Union was a great achievement of history, and I hope United States and Russian relations can grow eternally. Love from the states, comrades!
The Soviet Union really was what Reagan called it: an evil empire. I wholeheartedly agree in hoping our relations can grow warmer with the Russian people, as well as all the other peoples of the former Soviet Union. But the USSR itself was an oppressive police state, and I for one, do not lament its fall.

I was born in 2006 , 15 years after fall of Soviet Union and I'm also not Russian, I'm an Indian but I still feel sad about USSR because we Indians will never forget that how USSR helped us in 1971 Indo pak war. The Soviet Union standed against the whole world for India and in india we don't care about any country whether they are friend or enemy because we Indians know that no matter what happens our brother Russia is always with us love for my Russian brothers and sisters 😘

This anthem is powerful, martial and, for me, emotionally moving! It wakes in me so many things, it’s like nostalgia and hope together. It’s true that I’m communist, and for me this anthem of this country means a lot. I haven’t known Soviet Union, (fortunately and unfortunately) but anyways I keep this anthem really close to me. I'm Scottish and i'm not a communist, but i like Socialism and i like listening to the USSR's anthem to think "What if?" what if the Soviet Union really was a successful socialist country? What if it was a Democratic-Socialist state? the idea of workers fighting against oppression and inequality sounds cool coming from a working class background.
As a Bangladeshi, this anthem sends chills down my spine and to us the Soviet Union has always been that supportive and caring elder brother. Even if the Soviet Union is over, it's still alive deep in our hearts... The Soviet Union helped us a lot to be what we are today, a free nation... This brings me a sense of nostalgia. I have no childhood memories of the Soviet Union. But certain songs give me life and freedom. This is one of them.
Soviet Union was a great country I am not a russian but the anthem is best anthem I have ever heard even today,s russian anthem is not like this. @@infidelheretic923I mean, with a couple exceptions, most of the republics voted against the dissolution. It was the oligarchs on top that wanted power for themselves who were happy with the USSR breaking up, not the people! That said, modern Russia under Putin is a rather nationalistic mafia state, not a socialist federation like the USSR was, so currently almost none of the forner republics would really want to "reunify". (especially as a lot of those republics are ethnically and culturally very different from Russia)
I am an anti communist, but good lord, this song gives me chills, such a beautiful version. I will respect the USSR for some of it's achievments, this anthem being one of them. Such an interesting country.
