Opening of a day and feelings full of love for nature and creatures is vivid in this expressive rendition .It is more than skill and beyond any weakness of imagination .
Wonderful and outstanding, Ustad Rashid Khan captivates our attention from the very first musical note of the Raga Alhaiya Bilawal but this is applicable to all of his singing also. Within one or two alaaps he charges the atmosphere with the ragaas. His singing has beauty of brevity. In spite of brevity, after listening his chotaa khayals, we have a feeling of hearing of whole ragaa. Also there is tremendous variety of Ragas i.e. he has sung compositions (Bandishe) in many different ragaas with the same perfection, sweetness, originality of his own alaaps and taans with tremendous speed doing justice to each and every Bandish either in Badaa Kayal in Vilambit Laya or Chota Khayal in Madhya or Drut Laya. God bless him for more and more singing. Hearty thanks for making loading such type of sweet and eternal singing.
Not yet.. I would definitely listen to it .. I find the Sham Chaurasi style of Ustad Salamat Ali as good as Rampur Sahaswan style .. some other good renditions of Ustad Salamat Ali are in Durga, Tilang, Pahadi ..
beautifully sung. mercifully the cacophonium and violin are muted, the sarangi can be heard clearly up front. how old is this recording? i guess 1990s..
Cacophonium ??? 😀😀. I think you are being judgemental here !! Don't agree with you completely. It is not really so gross as you would want people to believe. True it cannot match the sarangi in so far as the sarangi can follow (copy?) the vocalist accurately and the harmonium cannot in that sense. However there is no need to pursue the vocalist. The harmonium accompaniment can be subtle even otherwise. Not many people will disagree with my view if the accompanist is Pandit Bijapure or JP Ghosh or Appaji Jalagaonkar or Purushattam Walawalkar and such. Even accurately following could be achieved by some such as Tulsidas Borkar. So branding the peti as cacophonium is funny alright but not completely justified. Admitted though that it cannot do the same things as the sarangi or even the esraj as an accompanying instrument. Tagore had made esraj the accompanying instrument for Rabindrasangeet and many rabindrasangeet artists shunned the harmonium in the yesteryears.
