Ustadji attempts no dramatic voice effects, no noticeable effort to surprise the audience, no frills, no breath-holding throat jugglery. This is just plain voice projection and melodic slow unfolding of the raag; Yet one is kept held with rapt attention even unable to move while he sings. At least, this has been my experience with his Hem Kalyan. What more can I call this but deep meditation.
