I was 10 years old , listen to him on radio with my Grandpa. Never understood why my grandfather loved him. Now that I listen ,it reminds me of the memories I had with Grandpa.

To all the dislikes You can't achieve what this man has achieved with his passion for music. Your jeoulsly is that you can't have the same talent what that man has. All you could do which is in your Control was to just Envy this man's talent. All your hatred will take you so far till you could quench ur thirst of envy but it isn't going to do anything good to the society.
I too attended this wonderful concert in London. An event never to be forgotten. The humility of this great soul was only matched by his power of expression. He was the true spirit of Banaras, unifying the beauty of Islamic culture with that of the Hindu religion. What would he say to our present India of discord and the wedge some people are determined to drive between us? Sad, almost as sad as the fact that this wonderful artist died almost destitute. A great indictment to us all. But thanks God his recordings live on and can be enjoyed by us who remember him, as well as by younger listeners who only discover him.

I read about Ustaad Bismillah Khan in my class 9th English course book and got curious so came here. I don't have much knowledge about classical music but I have to say that this was pure bliss. Now I get why he and his music is so respected and loved.

I had a privilege to see him perform live on the occassion of Bhopal Doordarshan station inaugration. I was very young at that age. May be 6-7 years old. I didn't know what I had witnessed. Now I feel privileged.

Ustad Ji used to live in Varanasi. Being a Muslim he used to look at the Kashi Viswanath Temple through the window all the time to offer his pronam to Viswanath Ji. What a Great Persona and a Superb Act of Secularism.

indeed.... I being born and brought up in Allahabad and touch in Banaras... got opportunity to sit on side and lap of the legendry maestros... Prayag Sangeet Samiti "Praveen" examinations were the occasion when baba and all legends of this time ...we were10-12 years and masters of age 50s...60s... ohhh tears are coming now we lived the life .....
I noted especially that such big people have not been helped by the government and remained almost as the poor and the needy that is very sad and noticeable issue and that needs to be reconsidered for such people who gave their life for the art and the cultural values to sustain and lived for ever.
I just listened to a song by amit trivedi which had a word in itself "SHEHNAI" and then I searched about this word and found this master, Ustad bismillah khan. now Im here to exprience another sort of music which is new to me, Im thankful to find such valuable kind of music.
