Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan is one of the living masters of the Kirana gharana musical style. As the grandson of Ustad Abdul Karim Khan he is a descendant of the gharana's family lineage. He was trained by his father, the Sarangi Nawaz Ustad Shakoor Khan, a student of Ustad Abdul Wahid Khan.
Mashkoor Ali Khan is considered a master of his style, and is a resident teacher of the Kirana Style at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy in Calcutta, a prominent institution of Indian Classical Music.
