UTA FabLab produces prosthetic arm for 8-year-old boy 

The UTA FabLab, a hands-on creative hub in the Central Library on campus made a prosthetic arm for eight year old Garrett, the son of an associate professor. Early on, the FabLab worked with the e-NABLE foundation to find potential blueprints for the arm, but no available designs were a perfect fit. So, student Adam Williams used e-NABLE as a springboard to create his own design. The FabLab doesn’t usually produce things for other people, but this case offered students and staff a unique chance to develop skills and unleash creative thinking. They will also submit the files to e-NABLE for others to use in the future.
