Yeah you can load these bikes up! However those other bikes really are dirt bikes and not adv or rally bikes, so not a direct comparison. The Kove is kinda of a unicorn in that respect.
You live in an amazing place! Would love to have such a big playground in the vicinity of my home. Over here in in Northern Europe, folks will call the police on you if you go off roading in "the wild". Ohw, and what a nice bike! 👍
I wish I lived out that way in Utah, but I actually live in New York so I’m in the same boat you are. There is nowhere to ride and people will call the cops. The entire north east USA is like that. Out west is true freedom. Ride on brother!
That was an amazing ride. We have some beautiful riding through PA, Western MD, and all of WV. The terrain from East coast to Western USA is very different. What makes western riding very different is the expanse and openness of everything. In Colorado, you can see your destination 100 miles away, but might take you 2 days to get there. The only thing that would have made your trip better would be on bikes from a country that doesn't want to destroy ours. I personally will pay the extra money to not participate in empowering China. I couldn't find a toaster not made in China, so you got me there. Phone made in Korea and computer made in Tiawan. All 6 motorcycles are made in either Japan or Austria. Three current vehicles made in USA or Japan.
Yes it was, as I like it better out west, but PA has great stuff as well. Can't help you on the china thing man, it's hard to find a bike that doesn't have chinese parts on it if any. I don't really care, it's competition and that's what we need to get better bikes.
I agree about side by sides got trails destroyed here im shore that bike aint bad for the money i don't care much for the sound but now i hear drz close i guess
My buddy has a habit of planning routes with long, very slow, very technical sections. Occasionally you end up cursing him for it. His response is always, "It looked better on the route planner." Those are always the ones you tell stories about.
I’m 5’9 and I thought the height for me was fine. I could touch the ground more on the Kove than I can with my ktm 390 because the seat is thinner on the Kove. If you are a lot shorter I would probably look at the low version.
Yeah just call GPX up goxmoto.com and order away! I’ve ordered 4 bikes straight from them and shipped to New York. I wouldn’t do it any other way, unless you want dealer support that is
The negative comments on SxS’s is frustrating. They have as much right to be there as you do, more if they’re local. If you want to be upset with something, how about the SUWA that just pushed the BLM to close over 300 miles of roads and trails west of Moab? Motorized users ALL need to have mutual respect and work together to keep what little we have left open. It’s called share the trail and yes I ride a lot, 8 countries so far, and currently own a 1090 Adventure, 500 XCFW, FJ09, and a highly modified Coleman mini bike.
To each their own I guess. I just don’t like them because they destroy trails and ruin the ecosystem making trails shut down because of the damage they do. They closed Moab which is BS probably because of that. I’m not saying they aren’t fun, but they do destroy every trail they touch which ruins it for everyone else. You should see Hatfield McCoy trails hear in the east, the trails are like 10’ wide and stupid boring because of them. That’s my my opinion anyways, which doesn’t really matter anyways. Ride on!
And if you ask any hiker or bicyclist, they say motorcycles ruin trails and they can as I’ve seen it far too many times to count. If you don’t want to see SxS’s or Jeeps, stick to single track only. Separation in motorized groups is exactly what the enviros want and they use it against us.
@@elburroadventures closing down Moab is BS and people should riot over that. My point was that a SxS literally destroys the environment and the trail would take generations to heal. A dirt bike trail would heal in a year if left alone.
@@LCARSADV as long as the environmental wackos can keep the different offroad user groups fighting each other they will win every fight they start. Moab isn't any different today than it was 20 years ago before the sxs's got there.
Careful guys this is exactly how things went here in the UK, getting the bikers blaming the 4x4s and splitting the vehicle users got trails shut to all but walkers, cyclists and horses, when the real damage was done by agricultural vehicles and still is. Work together guys
@griffinstewart9327 ?? For long traveling I always want to know what my fuel consumption is. Some countries, like in my recent trip in Africa, may have a fuel shortage.
I think it will shake up the market, it’s only good for consumers. The China thing, yeah I get it, but you would be shocked how much of whatever bike you ride parts are made in China. They all are made there in one way or another. Shame too, the japs just dropped the ball and are never gonna pick it up again either.
Lots of bits are made in China sure but you can make a conscious decision to not buy things that are advertised that they come from there unless you have no other choice. (I have an iPhone as I like iOS). In any case the more people that do buy the CCP's bikes the more likely the Austrian and Japs may come out with a good 450-500 to take it on head for head. @@LCARSADV
totally different bikes and never live in regret my friend - 701 is a killer bike and especially if you have made it your own, it is kind of natural to always want the next shiny thing so just try to fight the urge and remember why you got the 701 and invested time and cash into it - this will then focus the mind, the rally is an intriguing bike with a lot of allure and i too want one bad, but am dead happy with my 500 exc right now, in 1 year who knows
@@ogasi1798 yep! There is always something shiny down the road lol. The 701 is a fantastic bike though, but you are right, not the same as the Kove, more dirt bike
You get that carbon tower thingy and a huge roll chart. There is different mapping too I believe. I wouldn’t recommend that race version for anyone really, plus you lose the lcd screen. There is some other small differences, but that’s what I know!
I think you get a few different things that don't add up to near as much as what they want to charge for it. It doesn't make sense to me. The mapping difference will get you a few more ponies but without a doubt that will be able to be obtained in the near future. I even heard that the next ones coming out already have the same mapping. But that's here say. The exhaust is different too and much louder. For me I hate loud exhaust so another reason for me to not buy it. I sat on the low seat height version of this bike and was surprised how tall it was. Haven't been on the regular height one yet. I am buying one of the regular bikes and with the extra saved money can completely kit out the rest of the bike.
@@LCARSADV Yea by 44 inch tires from FULL SIZE jeeps and trucks. SXS are so light, they don't do that amount of damage unless they try really hard. SOME do act like tools just like ones on bikes, moto, jeep an hikers. You are ignorant to belive it is just 1 mode of travel. It is not, the 1 % are locust an are everywhere. You are just a trail snob that only want to have things for their own use. PUBLIC Land is for everyone. What DB.
@@wraith511802003 nah you’re probably just stupid if you don’t know that sxs’s ruin trials . They weigh 1500lbs. In West Virginia Hatfield McCoy trails they had to widen the trial to like 15 feet for the dumb side by sides. They suck and that’s a fact.
Not saying you’re wrong, but how would you know? Have you ridden both? Plus the Kove has 8 gallons of fuel vs 4.5. That right there is a no deal for a adv riding as range and capability is everything. Just curious what you think after riding both bikes?
