For the first time ever, I’m taking my overlanding into Utah. Zion is this destination for this trip as well as Glen canyon national park. This is some of the most beautiful country I have experienced yet along side my overland buddies. I’m joined by Bailey and hayden in the first generation tacomas, Brian in his third generation Tacoma, Cade in his square body and Tim in his gmc Sierra. We take on Utah back country for the first time and I promise this will not be the last

Incredible location and great work on the video. I was hoping the guy in the white Tacoma would use those Marston panels (PSPs) on that sand so we could see how they worked. Those early Tacoma trucks are like Mountain Goats.

I must have contributed to a massive chunk of your views on your last week's channel recap, lol. I think I just binge-watched most of your videos. Nice stuff and it fits my style of wheelin' and camping. Not flashy or over the top. Just right. It's about the overall experience with friends and family enjoying nature and looking back at historical finds is pretty rad too. I'm a bit west of you but have been urging the wife to head over one state when we get the chance. You've shown some very beautiful parts of AZ I didn't know looked like that! Loving the drone work and wonder how long it took you to get good at the smooth cinematic look and feel of your shots. Anyway, I'm in the market for a first gen Tundra and will be adding some wheeling/camping to my channel in the near future. Thanks for the hard work that I know goes into your videos. I know how difficult it is to produce content. And keep up the history lessons along the way. I'm diggin' it all.

Man I appreciate that and whenever you want to come out this way hit me up, if you’re on ig I have the same handle. I try to be low key and not flash products (mostly cuz I don’t have a ton of stuff) and be as utilitarian as possible. Overlanding has become really commercialized and it’s just about camping now. No one considers the history behind these places we travel so I try to stay within this niche and provide different content from the norm. As far as the drone shots, I try to make every shot in one fluent motion and cut out the slight movements that take away from the cinematic feel of things

Hi Cody, I love seeing all the older rigs and if you this overlanding is based on what you see on "sponsored overlanding" on the big RU-vid channels, it is way out of range of your ordinary hardworking American like me. You don't need all that expensive stuff, and my buddy and I took our families on a 10-day Utah trip, him in his 95 Land Cruiser he inherited from his dad, and me in my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder my neighbor gave me. We had no issues and hade a freaking blast!!! Here's one video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iU1zAFCUnAM.htmlsi=bQmoNswx88f6rXj4. I know it's a lot of work and thank you for bringing us all along. I love your videos!!!

This is one of few channels I've seen where you guys are actually putting these rigs to the test getting to some of these camp sites. Seems like on a lot of overland channels dudes will have some crazy built rig with lockers, 37s, all the recovery gear and whatnot bolted onto their bed rack, ect. and then only seem to drive on semi maintained dirt roads....
@Whitedogoverland
@Whitedogoverland 10 месяцев назад
Drives me nuts to see guys even build their trucks out to hit two local trails a year so I appreciate that acknowledgment a lot. The hobby became over commercialized three years ago and along came the influencers with the baddest gear. I think it’s silly. All that for a forest service road haha.

Enjoy your videos. Bailey is a great companion--makes me smile! I am concerned and curious about the land that you all were off-roading on. I hope it was designated for that. Hate to see land torn up just cause "you" want to have an adventure. The erosion it can cause and the damage to land can be almost not repairable in some cases. Just some thoughts. Take care out there.
@Whitedogoverland
@Whitedogoverland 10 месяцев назад
Thank you I appreciate the comment! I’m assuming you’re talking about some of the off camber rock obstacles around the 11:00 mark. Someone else pointed out the line the black Tacoma took. There was three lines to the trail there, the one the black Tacoma took was previously used and more of a challenging line. The one up the center I took and a steep ledge as a third option. I do my best to never let myself or the rest of our crew do any damage to anything off the trail. We have side by sides already doing enough damage
@dalekarraker6851

I really like your channel. The collection of rigs in this episode shows that you don't need the newest/fanciest/most expensive rig and gear to get out and enjoy the countryside. However I did have a problem with one thing: at 11:18 into the vid one of your friends is climbing up a rock face for some reason. What is wrog here is that the Feds and some states are closing more and more trails due to abuse and over-use. That sort of off trail climbing, just for the sake of clmbing a rock, is what will get even more trails closed. Keep up the great work - just keep it on the trail.
@Whitedogoverland
@Whitedogoverland 10 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching I really appreciate the kind words. That section of trail you’re referring to had three lines, the one the black taco went up was the more challenging and had been previously used many times. Maybe continual use like that probably isn’t the best and being from Arizona if there’s previous use on a section we go for it but Utah regulates much different than Arizona and I’m starting to understand that
