Astonishing! Government trying to be efficient. I can’t imagine why this would be prohibited. Unless I am missing something, this sounds like a truly bipartisan issue.
In Ownyerowngun, these services are separate because they have different funding. HUD has a waiting list (in some cases several months), the "employment" department has surrendered to temp agencies & online applications, SNAP & TANF are available readily to those who qualify. Meanwhile, displaced workers have to "bite the bullet", downsizing their expenses & most importantly their aspirations. Why? Because the availability of employment in their area has been downsized.
So what if they are funded differently! That doesn’t mean there can’t be cooperation between groups! I worked on a project to get farm labor contractors a one stop shop. They had to register with the county (counties), the state AND the federal government. Just by getting all of the different agencies to carry all of the applications to fill out in each place and having each agency pass along the information improved the process. Not all offices were helpful, but those that were made a difference.
