This is what I'm talking about for content. Love the random! I was expecting you to cheese the last Zerg by playing a normal non-cheezy setup since you said ZvZ is always cheesy. "He will never expect my normal play" type cheese.
I have a new challenge for you. I hope you accept 😊 the challenge is to use swarm hosts as your only “spell caster” besides queens and overseers, while using some of these below tactics and anymore you can think of. Swarm host attack techniques? Thinking about swarm host as a specialized spell caster can be helpful. There spell is DPS, distraction, and a fairly modest amount of damage mitigation. You typically don’t get 12 spell casters unless they are ghosts. Sigh. They are typically thought of as siege units, but they are unique in this regard because the closer you are to the target the more damage can be done. The trick is getting close to targets that can’t fight back or are distracted. If you supplement an army with 4-6 SH this could really boost the DPS on a mid-high tier army. The typical multi pronged attack is always open too. I like to compare the Swarm host (SH) with the infestor. The SH has a 43 sec cooldown but if the infestor is completely out of energy it can’t do anything for roughly 1.5 minutes. Even if the infestor has enough energy for 2 casts, it isn’t worth anything unless the army is ready. But everyone says they are great additions to the army and Swarm hosts are left as larva. Strategy 1 scout sandwich In my opinion, having 4-6 Swarm Hosts burrowed off creep (to avoid detection) along the path of the enemy's advance could work well as scouts, thanks to their burrowed sight of 10. Once the enemy has moved past them, they could emerge from burrow or simply unleash their locusts to create a high damage per second ambush sandwich. However, I've rarely seen this strategy used in practice. Probably because it is 12-18 army supply, 400-600 min, and 300-450 gas. (2-3 infestor worth of gas and way more supply). This would provide a high DPS with a modest meat shield 400-600 HP it would also slow down the enemy’s retreat. While taking out or damaging the often expensive rear guard. Strategy 2 main base nydus. A major weakness of Terran is their production centralization. Step 1 In the mid-early late game get a nydus in the main production facility of the enemy and lay havoc with a group of point blank locusts and whatever else you want to bring. Just as a point of reference 6 SH make 12 locus that do 279 DPS for 18 seconds, that is like 4-5 seconds to destroy a barracks, the locus alone could take out 3-5 and whatever else you bring can speed it up. Step 2 Pop out a few more freshly made SH, from the nydus to fight the enemy that just came to shoe off the depleted swarm hosts heavy harassing force. Step 3 If that works hit ‘em again with the first group, then escape before most people respond with enough forces. Step 4 Don’t forget to attack a freshly mining base when the army is distracted with the above attack. Strategy 3 walk them in This is a bit of a high risk play but if one is doing multi pronged attacks and one didn’t want to invest in a nydus or to be more surprising, slow walking or dropper lord a small group of swarm hosts with some lings to take out workers and force a damaged lift off. If the opponent is taxed enough from other attacks 3 SH can add 140 DPS which is more than enough to take out a town hall. If they lift too soon studder step the locusts and take out all of the workers in a flash all while your SH are queued back home.
I played in a 1v1 tournament (in the game the ones that are automated) the other day as Random, rolled Protoss in every game but the Finals, and Toss is my main race. I felt dirty cuz it was just a cake walk then in the Finals I did double proxy Marauder & won lol Only my 3rd try (got the the finals before once too) to win a Trophy for the display flex in your base for the rest of the season. Love watching these cheese videos cuz it gives me ideas for games since I'm still in wood league 😀
I hated that you had internet issues in the tournament. You’re the man. I haven’t even touched sc2 in years but I watch all your vids. GOAT RANDOM SC2 PLAYER
After eating, the body diverts some blood to the stomach, which reduces blood supply to the brain, and depending on the contents of the lunch, additional energy might get diverted to manage glycemic load.
28:37 nice unit - killing whole enemy army alone. disruptors should work like raven rocket, dealing 0 damage and only reducing the armor of units hit for this game to have a chance of being any balanced
QoL change for the next patch - Thor builds in the good mode by default (high-impact payload). Alternatively, allow choosing the mode which it builds with, same as you can build directly hellbats instead of hellions and then transform them :)
with the Thor, could you drop them in a narrow area instead of in the open? Or... could they have an upgrade? I don't know... seems like a tough one. Wait... the 1st Thor was good(?) but then do all Hellions to attack the mineral line and then Thor again.
36:40 Why arent you pushing at the front with the marines? That would have easily changed everything instead of feeding your Thors for free in the back
