Can you please show me how to unattached the door from the hinge? I need to replace the door and can’t figure out how to get the other one off! Thank you!
Thanks. Got no help from IKEA site. What I mostly needed to know was ceiling clearance (my cabinets are almost butt up against the ceiling). This showed me it'll work, plus more.
Thank you very much! I need to mount it in a place where there is no hole, could you please give me the distance todrill a hole on the sides with respect to the top side and with respect to the side on the edge
You REALLY HELPED me out. Thank you tpainatl. IKEA should pay you for helping out their customers. So glad I get to install this in the age of RU-vid and tpaintl
what is the thickness of one hinge with cover. I'm trying to figure out if the microwave would fin in a 24in cabinet with this system. thanks for a very fast reply!
There is another version of this hinge that's very similar -- www.ikea.com/us/en/p/utrusta-large-hinge-for-horizontal-door-white-40279477/ The instructions for adjusting the tension differ from what's in the video. See panel 9 on page 12 of this document for the instructions: www.ikea.com/us/en/assembly_instructions/utrusta-large-hinge-for-horizontal-door__AA-1022042-3_pub.pdf I had no luck with a conventional (#2) Phillips head screwdriver with a 1/4 inch shaft and a #1 Phillips didn't work either. I ground down the shaft of the #2 screwdriver to about 7/32 inch and that did the trick. Turning the screwdriver in a horizontal plane engages and rotates a gear in the vertical plane, and that adjusts the tension.
YES! Thank you so much! I have these older (?) hinges and was going nuts trying to find out how to retighten! Can't complain - I installed these over 10 years ago and only now has one loosened slightly. Bless you!
Thanks so much for this! I am trying to figure out if I could screw these into a plain wooden plank (i.e. not onto the IKEA cabinet base with the predrilled holes). Do you think that could work?
Thanks man, we got everything done fine on our own until we got to the adjustment part. Did not realise that the screw could go in further with the drill. Again, thank you!
Thank you so much man! I finally understood the system. I did my first one with a screwdriver but I swear this took so long time. The next one I will do with an electric screwdriver
If the hinges have been adjusted with the back screw then you can not reattach the doors, this might be important if doors have been previously adjusted lowering the back catch pin.
Thank you very much! I need to mount it in a place where there is no hole, could you please give me the distance todrill a hole on the sides with respect to the top side and with respect to the side on the edge.Thank you.
Is your door wood or aluminum with glass? Mine is made of aluminum with glass, can I still secure the fasteners with those short screws? Or do I need to install rivet first? Because aluminum is thinner than wood. Help!
Both hinges should be adjusted to the same tension position in a manner such that the door opens up once it's pulled up about 6 inches or a third of the way
