Uttama Villain Tamil movie stars Kamal Haasan, Urvashi, Pooja Kumar and Jayaram in the lead roles.
Uttama Villain is the story of Manoranjan (Kamal Haasan) who is a leading film star. He was mentored by class director Margadarsi (K Balachander), but for the past twenty five years is acting in mindless commercial films produced by his father-in-law (K. Viswanath). Manoranjan has it all a doting wife (Urvashi) an adolescent son (Manohar) and an affair with a doctor Arpana (Andrea). One day, Manoranjan decides to withdraw from a film produced by Poornachandra Rao and instead act in a film produced by himself and directed by Margadarsi. Manoranjan's film with Margadarsi is titled Uttama Villain in which the Theiyam artiste Uttaman (Kamal Haasan) who escapes from the jaws of many times due to some divine intervention and he becomes a legend as Mritunjayan or the one who is immortal. With the help of a princess named Karpagavalli (Pooja Kumar), he works to defeat the evil Muttharasan (Nassar), who is obsessed to gain Karpagavalli and the whole Theeyam empire. What happens to Uttaman and Manoranjan is told parallel in the screenplay that leads to a riveting climax.
