Me embriago con "Lilac Wine" de Nina Simone
y ahora entiendo todo, su imagen,
la logro ver perfectamente,
estuvo tan borrosa y llena de filtros durante tantos años.
Ahora estoy justo sentada frente a un lugar
en el que no me gustaría estar por mucho tiempo,
su voz siempre se hace mejor a la luz de todas aquellas cosas que me hicieron falta cuando era niña, ahora su figura es tan clara para mí,
la figura que me atormento por tantos años.
Es evidente que no es una sombra,
por lo menos una sombra que no reconozca,
es usted.
Viajé en el tiempo para descubrirlo,
si hubiera sabido al menos que usted produciría el caos que causó,
si hubiera sabido que su entrada sería tan tardía,
jamás hubiera decidido siquiera conocerlo,
pero eso mismo me llevó a entenderlo,
a pensar que quizá sentarme frente a frente con su existencia,
taparía muchos huecos, me limpiaría y daría mucha felicidad…
Pero tal vez hubiera sido más fácil asumir desde la distancia,
que haberme encontrado frente a frente a esta realidad
que ahora me trajo más distorsiones emocionales.
¡Ah! ¿Era usted lo que me hacía falta?
¿Era usted lo que buscaba en mi tristeza?
Que poca cosa, pensé,
sin embargo decido hacer las paces con eso,
quizá eso me ayude a resolver el gran misterio de la vida,
que explica que todo viene de atrás…
Y ahora?

Infatuated with "Lilac Wine" by Nina Simone,
I start to understand everything, his image.
I get to watch it fully, it was so blurry and full of filters for so many years.
Now, I find myself sitting in a place I wouldn’t want to stay at for long.
His voice seems softer
in the dim light of all those things I lacked when I was a little child.
His silhouette is now clear to me, that figure that haunted me for too many years.
I’m sure it’s not just a shadow,
or at least not an unknown shadow: It’s you.
I traveled through time in order to discover you.
If I only knew the chaos you would have created
if I only knew how belated you’d arrive,
I never would’ve met you.
But it was that very one thing that made me think,
maybe to sit in front of your mere existence
would mend all the things that were broken,
would fill all the holes, would clean me, and would make me happy.
But now I think that it would have been
easier to watch you from a distance,
than facing this reality that has brought
even more emotional distortion to my life.
- So, it was you all along! everything that
I lacked and looked for in sadness?
-So, that’s it? such a small thing?
I thought.
However, I hereby decide to make peace with it,
for it might help me solve the great mystery of life,
the one that explains that everything comes from behind.
And now...?
