Thank you for this video. It is so helpful to me. I had iritis probably 20 years go, and it was painful. Then I got Graves’ disease for 16 years . I suffered for years with Graves Ophthalmopathy. Last week my right eye felt sore to the touch and grew worse every day. It’s very red now and I have light sensitivity. After wondering if I injured my eye ( I picked up and moved some chickens and their winds flapped in my face ) I decided to look up ophthalmologists in my area. Your video popped up and it really helped me decide to call my nurse and get a referral to an eye doctor. Thank you so much.

Ty for the info. When I went to my doctor he only listened to the word "pain" when I said nothing like that. I said I had clear circle cells in my eye, and it's causing clouding in my eye. My eye was somewhat sensitive to light, but after 3 and 1/3 days, it stopped and I only had pressure. I still had cloding in my left eye. I finally went to the doctor and he said "You have uveitis, your eye is inflamed." Etc etc... Now when I went to another doctor 2 yrs later, he said the same the but added more conditions. They're claiming as it's "caused", it causes blurred vision and claiming I do.. which I never had blurred vision from it nor said I did, I said "cloudy vision". "You have posterior synechiae and granulomatous inflammation, along with Uveitis". Both doctors did not list to my story, explainations nor conditions. They're attitude was "I check your eyes and I saw what I see, it's uveitis. Etc etc. An I had seen a doctor a week ago and I seen the one who claims I had other issues with my eye recently. Ty for reading and I enjoyed your video.

Past 8 years anytime I had milk I’d develop iritis soon after. Year and a half ago someone told me to try almond milk I did in a protein shake I got iritis so bad I lost my vision in my left eye for 2 months. I’ve also been tested positive for HLA B 27 😢

Hello, thanks for the informative video! I have a question I was diagnosed with iritis 3 weeks ago and have been using steroid drops as well as cyclopentolate 1% once a day to dilate my eyes. I have really bad blurred/cloudy vision. My doctor stated that my blurred vision is due to scar tissue in between my cornea and iris, she stated the reason for the dilating drops is to help push some of the scar tissue away to help restore my vision. You mentioned in the video that some people get keritis (the clumps of white blood cells) is that another term for scar tissue? Also, have you ever heard of the dilation drops actually pushing the scar tissue away? I have been doing a lot of research, and I find nothing about the dilation drops actually pushing the scar tissue away.
@dreyeforyou
@dreyeforyou Год назад
Hi Amanda, thanks for your response. Dilating drops are given generally for several reasons. They can prevent spasm of the iris (which results in pain). They also aim to prevent the formation of posterior synechiae (where the iris stick to the lens, resulting in the pupil (usually round part) becoming a funny shape). If post synechiae have already formed, which it sounds like they have in your case, the dilating drops are trying to break them. I believe what you are referring to as scar tissue is posterior synechiae. Vision can be blurred for several reasons in iritis - this may be due to the dilating drops, inflammation being severe or fluid formation in the back of the eye. Good luck.

I have uveitis since 2002. Now using DORMAS-T and DIFLUSOL eye drops twice a day and thrice when severe attack .Any new treatment is there other than steroid. But now if stopped the medicine for max 2 days then again same irrigation arises. So now I have to use the both daily twice one drop each since last 3 years.

Thank you for your comment SM. Steroids or other forms of immunosuppression are the main treatment forms for uveitis.

Hi just came across your video. I recently got diagnosed with Iritis and it's been one of the scariest experiences of my life! It's in my left eye and everything is blurry and foggy. I've been taking Prednisolone drops and Atropine drops for the last 4 days.The redness and inflammation has gone down but I still see foggy and blurry😥 willy vision clear up eventually?? I'm so scared because loss of vision is biggest fear😰Thanks and n advance

Thank You! My eye has gotten much better and redness n inflammation down Alot however at my recent apmnt w/my eye Dr. he advised that even though my eye cleared up he could still see a bit of inflammation and I have to continue w/,the prednisolone and Atropine for 2 more weeks. I don't mind that but I'm concerned about the steroids causing cataracts and glaucoma... As an eye Dr. is this common practice to continue taking steroids even if there is supposed small amounts of inflammation? My eye feels and looks fine except for my vision still being blurry and unfocused. I still don't have a clue as to how or why this happened to my eye😩 Dr also mentioned something about Iritis taking some ppl MONTHS to clear up and sometimes it's recurring 🙄

@@adriannalynch-delao6563 Hi, I can't speak specifically about your case, but generally speaking it is very normal to be on steroid drops for several weeks (slowly reduced to prevent another flare up by coming off treatment too quickly) even if your feel things are much improved and in the vast majority of cases a cause is never found.

Why anterior uveitis causs photophobia
@dreyeforyou
@dreyeforyou Год назад
Iris muscles go into spasm. The iris controls the size of the pupil. When light shines onto an eye in which the muscles are in spasm it causes photophobia. The muscles also fail to correctly regulate the amount of light getting into the eye via the pupil. All of these issues cause photophobia.
