If it has features like unwrap pro by marius or have similar features like Rizom UV it will be perfect. Symmetry unwrap, multiple packing options, UDIM and etc.
This is a really good idea, curious to see how it evolves. The Texel density features looks really easy to use as well, the only pitty seems to be the packing functionalities being quite limited for now. Anyway, all the power to the developers of this script 👏🏻
Your video shows very nicely how well this plugin works. It also shows me how incompetent autodesk's own developers are. I mean it's not only this plugin but also Tyflow and many others. It feels like every year they work on 5% better viewport performance and useless OSL shaders instead of such improvements.
I've been using 3DS Max now for 20+ years and seeing new apps coming out that blow it out of the water is depressing. For the price you pay Autodesk for it they should have groundbreaking features that rival free software that comes out. I'm very tempted to move my team from 3DS Max to Blender or something else at this point when we have some downtime. I mean the UV viewport is basically the same from 20 years ago just with a couple of new buttons for basic UVing features that should've been implemented 15 years ago.
it probably is like rapid tools u need to keep the hierarchy clean to make use of them. Good implementation but Jesus Christ Autodesk really Really need to step up their game if in 2023 a viewport with UV data is helping us.
You've never seen anything like this... ok :D . Check Maya, perhaps? Btw, amazing plugin! Finally, someone brings UVW Unwrapping out of the dark ages in Max! GJ Mike!
This grid maybe for udim. I think blender already have uv viewport but some functionality like this addon will be helpful (it is partly there called live unwrap but not give realtime feedback)
Great video! Rapidtools is a great developer. I think you may have an error regarding support of UVReactor to other modifiers, the thing with Max is that every modifier may change or affect the mesh/uv data, but the one that stores this data are mesh/poly/uv modifiers, so you have to work in a mesh/poly/uv modifiers, there is no point in having support for a Shell Modifier or Bend Modifier, where Mesh is being deformed and animated, new polys are generated, and UV Data would be screwed, if you try to edit it. So, if he can do it great, but I think that Max is not designed in that way.
I think you're right here, dev mentioned that for things to work, everything should end with a Edit Poly for example, so what you're saying does make sense.
Yepp. That's true. Currently the Editable Poly is the only thing that supports it. Theoretically it's possible to implement it with edit poly as well but I still haven't made a test yet. I'll have a look at it soon. Imagine that you never ever have to use unwrap uvw anymore, because the Edit Poly mod can take over the job from it.
@@nsevv I have to check if that's even possible. In that case I would have to alter the normal working mechanism of the Unwrap UVW modifier which would lead to instabilities. It's unfortunately a technical question and it's related to the modifier stack geometry pipeline.
Háh! :D Szeggyed akkó! Aztán dobjál feedback-et. El kél. ;) (Sorry for the Hungarian) I have just told him to download and give feedbacks. I really need it. ;)
sr i have one doubt in 3dsmax after uv unwrapping model. if i go to edit poly if did some thing changes for ex-if u add extra line move line or vertex after i come back to unwrpp modifier evrything (proper unwrapping ) will be gone. again ihave todo unwrapp what is solution for this. in blender dont happen like this.
well... two things 1) I don't use blender, but there were a few scenarios when I had to go into blender to do some basic stuff, and it was INCREDIBELY easy to navigate and find what I'm looking for 2) if I ever quit Max, I'm going for Blender for sure
The background music in this video is highly annoying. You also don't need that gigantic circle around your mouse at this resolution. Also, you're taking too long to get to the point. Thanks for showcasing this, but I'm struggling to get through it with that background music competing with your voice.
