We are incredibly proud of the UWA Academy that the Uganda Wildlife Authority @ugwildlife and the Uganda Conservation Foundation has recently completed, and how every effort has been made to involve the local community of Murchison Falls National Park.
The strategic location of the UWA Academy, situated away from existing tourism areas, underscores our commitment to help UWA expand the positive impact of conservation and tourism efforts into various sectors of the park. The upcoming Starlight Safari Ball aims to fundraise for a new Toyota Landcruiser 79, which will play a pivotal role in targeted conservation actions in that part of the park.
This purpose-built facility will serve as a central hub for UWA ranger training sessions, senior staff training, and important meetings and events, contributing to the overall development and sustainability of Murchison Falls National Park.
Our sincere thanks to the US State Department for financing the project, and the efforts of our Founder Trustee Michael Keigwin whose concept it was, and who has provided project oversight and guidance throughout.
