Hey, when talking about the „touchability“ of buttons you briefly touched the topic of affordance. I lateley habe been wondering a lot about how to combine affordance with a „modern“ aesthetic - especially since the prime examples for good affordance often remind me of the skeuomorphic design that eg Apple made use of in the early versions of iOS. I would love to have a video of you diving into that topic 😊 Thx and greetings from Germany!

Hi Ran and team, love your content and amazing generosity in sharing and teaching - its great to see your tutorials and insights and I come from a time before UX/UI phrase existed but Ive used those priniciples in all my work and career where common sense and user testing feedback was the way things were done in putting together websites, landing pages etc. I wonder your and others here thoughts on the massive rise, focus and turn to UX/UI buzz phrase where not everyone has the opportunity or luxury to spend thousands on attending bootcamps and other money spinning mega courses but also where not every design project needs or has the time for drawn out UX research/testing/

I didn't realize it but I learned all this stuff when I was in school in the 1970's, only they didn't call it web design. They called it advertising and page layout. I majored in advertising and marketing and all of these principals applied back then. Nice to know it still does.

Could have done this video myself based on two websites I tried to use over the weekend....one example had a button that didn't appear to be a button and it was a very important button too - actually being able to find a price and buy something. Second was a dog food e-commerce website where I honestly could not work out how to actually buy the food, so confusing and such a poor UX... I always make any email or phone number clickable on websites, doesn't matter where it appears on the site. Such basics but so frustrating when you visit a site where the basics are missed!

as a ui / ux designer, do you have to literally draw every single frame of website or mobile app you're working on to explain every option user go through??? i am asking this because i tryed it and there is big amount of pages i need to draw and explain so it goes deeper and deeper....also i want to mention that i tryed this on a simple app like send sms message on the phone. I can not image how much frames and options would have some social networks apps ,or some websites,e-markets. How do you deal with it ?

Apple's website isn't the best example considering how little information is provided and that their font does not even show sharp on Windows because it is Apple proprietary (kind of reminder why you do not want to use Apple products :D)

On the fetch design website, I understand it made sense how he/she did it, I mean its the call to action and doesn't need a button since the info for contact is right there, the email is "a button" But not really, its an email, as soon as you put ".com" on something, it'll act as a link, if anything he should remove the hyperlink so it behaves like the rest, but the issue about a button being different in that case, feels unnecessary, also if it looked like a button or different it would change the aesthetic.

Good video, in this video, you doesn't explain explicit different between a button and link. Using Apple as example is consistent, but confusing explanation about that. Link must reoriented user, a button define an action. If you understand what I mean?

I dont think that the last site looks like it has contrast issues at all. Light grey on grey snow works well because it is used by less meaningful text and those purplish buttons are exactly the same, but clearly visible in my opinion. If the lower text was as visible as is the title, my eyes would be much more annoyed and going around the page more than needed
