Though not ethnic Chinese themselves, Uyghurs are peaceful citizens of China. I saw one inside Kwantung province in South China selling walnuts and other products while I was there on a visit. I am an ethnic Chinese foreigner, a citizen from a country outside China. China is a big and beautiful country whose land mass is larger than the USA. It is the 3rd largest country after Russia and Canada.

Personally I love listening and watching Uyghur dancing and singing. Such culture should be shared for the entire world's enjoyment which the Chinese government did not suppress or prohibit. If only the Uyghur were to learn the language of the majority of China, which should applicable to all nations in the world, I am sure they would easily find good jobs and opportunities. Have an open mind on religion and not to be influenced by the wrong teachings of islam and everything should be in peace and harmony. If Uyghurs could speak Mandarin they would not be at a disadvantage in competing for jobs, business opportunities and have a greater say within their own Province. Fighting against the Central Government would be futile and the best win-win situation is to live in peaceful co-existence by respecting the religion, beliefs, docterine and culture of all the 56 ethnic groups of China (Han Chinese included). In taking that first step, start learning Mandarin and stop receiving the Uyghurs exciles, especially in the US as they have their own agenda and definitely not on the well-being of Uyghurs living in China.

The Uyghur's who want a separate states are those that want a more Islamic country one that follows Islam true to its core like Saudi Arabia. The Uyghur were always a moderate muslim group. There are Uyghur's who are not happy and those who are proud to be of Chinese nationality like a lot of countries around the world. Uighur also have free healthcare, free education in China. Most of the Uyghur oppression news is funded by the NGO especially the Washington D.C. sponsor World Uyghur congress led by Rebiya Kadeer a known con in China who lies about the Uyghur genocide after she got exile. East turkestan Islamic movement is also label as a non-terrorist group by the US because they attack China only but hey the US support Terrorist like ISIS and Al Qaeda. Uighur are much better off in China now with their one belt one road project than they are living in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen or any other parts of Western Asia. China can benefit without the Tibetan or Uyghur. These two groups however cannot benefit without China. I think if China wanted to create mass genocide the Uyghur's would've been wipe out already in the 8th century or whenever they arrive in China from Mongolia.
I love and prize folk song and folk dance of different people. But I especially love and admire Uyghur folk song and folk dance for their beautiful and charming attires , devine appearance of the dancers and melodious songs. The movements of the dancers are very sweet and graceful. Songs are very pleasing to the ear and heart. But it is a matter of regret that we can not understand the meaning of song as we don't know the Uyghur language. While we enjoy fully the dance we can't enjoy the song thoroughly. Therefore we request you to kindly provide English subtitles in CC icon giving the meaning of the song with the copy of the Uyghur song in English alphabet. In the end the Huns on horsebacks rode westward, conquering as they went, and founded the nation of Hungary. Uyghurs are a Turkic people from a country known as East Turkestan, now renamed Xinjiang (new territory) by the Chinese Govt. Their blood relatives are the Turks in Turkey.

Uyghur people, one of the 56 peoples of China. Their language is using the same letters with Arabic but they are different languages. people speak different languages can't communicate.
The Uyghur arrive in Xinjiang around the 6th or 7th century BC from somewhere around modern day Mongolia. Before the Uyghur and arrival of the Turkic people that the Uyghur's are a part of, Xinjiang and central Asia was once dominated by a indo-Iranian nomad before the Turks. the Yuezhi live in Xinjiang before the Turkic Uyghur and traded with the Han Chinese thus creating the importance of the Silk Road. The Uyghur look like that because they mix themselves with the Tocharian another Indo-European group that once live in Xinjiang. A lot of turkic cultures are influences by those Indo-Iranian people that once occupied that region. In fact Uyghur culture are influence of Persian, Arabs due to Islam arriving in Central Asia in the 10th century, Mongolian (their Altaic/Steppe family), and the Han. Uyghur were once Tengri/Buddhist before converting to Islam. Uyghur are really unique as you can find some whom look Persian/Arab and also some that closely resemble Mongol/Han. Speaking of Russian too during the 1930s the USSR occupy Xinjiang and other Central Asian state. The USSR try to establish an independent state called "East Turkestan" Overall the History of Xinjiang is a fascinating one. Today the Uyghur makes up the majority in Xinjiang follow by the Han, Tajik, Russian, Xibe, Kazakh, Tatars, Uzbek, Hui, Kyrgyz, are other smaller ethnic groups who live in that region.

How can the Han who call themselves Chinese hope to assimilate a whole race of people and make them Chinese? The Uighur has they own language, religion and culture and they are 9 million of them. The Chinese government should withdraw from Uighur occupied territories and let them have the independence they had been fighting for. They had never agreed to Chinese rule, imperial or post imperial era.
