Concerning Cinuçen Tanrıkorur’s Legendary Hijaz Taqsim
In the summer of 1984 Tanrıkorur and the kemençe player İhsan Özgen went together on a concert tour in Italy. On June 28, they gave an Oud, Kemençe and Vocal Concert in Floernce at the Gothic Santa Croce Basilica.
During the concert Tanrıkorur made a taqsim in the maqam Uzzal. It was recorded under the cupola of the basilica and the resonating echoes of the Oud can be heard. This is not a taqsim in the maqam Hijaz, but one in the close relative maqam of Uzzal. The “seyir” (progression of the melody) is in the maqam Uzzal, with its emphasis on the fifth degree which is on the pitch of Hüseyni. Tanrıkorur said this about the taqsim: “ The Holy Mother Mary helped me.”
Cinuçen Tanrıkorur’un Efsaneli Roma Hicaz Taksimi Üzere
1984 yazında Tanrıkorur ve kemençeci İhsan Özgen İtalya’da bir konser vermek üzere tura çıkarlar. Bu tur sırasında, 28 Haziran‘da, İtalya Floransa’da bulunan gotik Santa Croce Bazilikasında bir Ud, Kemençe ve Ses konseri verirler.
Konser esnasında Tanrıkorur bir Uzzal taksim icra eder. Taksim kaydında; ud sesine Bazilika kubbesinin kendine özgü yankıları eşlik etmektedir. Bu bir Hicaz taksim değildir; bir Uzzal (Hicaz) Taksimdir. Zira seyiri Uzzal ve güçlüsü makamın beşinci derecesi olan Hüseyni perdesindedir. Bu taksim için Tanrıkorur: “Hz. Meryem bana yardım etti.” demiştir.
