The VHS series is kinda a guilty pleasure for me, it's interesting to see these segments that someone put on a VHS tape. Funny(or stupidly) enough the first time I saw VHS 2 I thought the collage kid the detectives were looking for was one of the guys from the first movie's wrap around cause I may be partially face blind to some features(along with not focusing) so I thought he looked like one of the guys. I'm gonna list the names cause it might be interesting if people read the comments Tape 49(Wrap around) Phase I Clinical Trials A Ride in the Park Safe Haven Slumber Party Alien Abduction(It got it's own full movie that was shown at a film fest last year & aired world wide January 20th of this year, it's called Kids Vs Aliens. Fun fact they used an ALF doll for the shots of the camera being on the dog)
Happy to see you've returned - great reaction! And yes, the segment 'Safe Haven' is something special. It totally floored me when I first saw it. If you DO want to see a full-length horror found footage movie based around the Jonestown tragedy, I highly recommend 'The Sacrament' (2013). Very creepy. I know lots of people don't seem to like 'V/H/S 3' (V/H/S: Viral), but I think it has two standout segments, one in particular is a chaotic bit of greatness.
Just watched the trailer to The Sacrament and that looks right up my alley! I was gonna do The Innkeepers for October which is a Ti West flick too (I think?) thanks for the comment SP!
@@therobw I just saw it again early in October and was struck by how the use of actual music from that era used effectively created a totally immersive experience. (Long sentence...yikes!). 'One of Our Submarines' by Thomas Dolby playing quietly in the car was an inspired choice.
There's a standalone film titled "Siren," and it's based on the short from the 1st VHS film about the vampire chick from the "Amateur Night" segment. It's not great, but it's a lot of fun to watch.
This is brutal, that's what we're talking about. I think the dog on the last part was necessary, those evil aliens leave no clues (except the recording, stupid aliens). LOL
@@therobw Always! You're one of the best reaction channels. You're real and you don't follow the other people doing all the same movies at the same times. The little extra you put into your openings are just amazing. I don't know of any other channel that does that.
@@JunoReactor77 Really happy to hear that man. I have an 80’s Thanksgiving based slasher movie reaction coming out Wednesday. Hope you’re doing well my friend.
@@therobw Another reaction dropping in 2 days?! What! You're spoiling us man! I've told all my friends about your channel you definitely deserve way more subs here! I'm doing great too thanks! Seeing a Rob W. reaction for V/H/S 2 totally made my day!
I’m at 28:21 and just noticed that your mic has the tiniest ever handle! Lmao wtf?? Who is that made for?! Is it meant to go into some sort of attachment?! I’m laughing so hard!
Glad to see you back in my feed Rob hope everything is going well. I’ve never seen this one because I wasn’t a fan of the first one but this had some cool ideas in it. I feel like they got the eye implant concept from Body Bags but idk lol. Great stuff as always man 🔥👊🏽
I meant to mention that it was kinda ripping off Body Bags in that first segment! Thanks for checking in dude. This is definitely a step up from the first IMO. Hope you have a good holiday my guy
Great reaction bro👏 You should watch REC, is also a horror found footage movie...but believe me, that's incredibly realistic (my personal horror movie of 2000's era)
You should watch the ABC's of death. 26 directors are assigned a letter and make a horror short based on a word beginning with that letter. Very inconsistent, but there's some fun to be had.
I’ve heard about that movie for a while but also heard the same thing you said. A lot more misses than hits? Maybe I’ll get around to it one of these days. Thanks for the comment
@@therobw id say it's maybe 50/50 but they go quick so it's pretty fun. I really enjoy your channel byw, you feel like one of the few genuine reactors on youtube
Thanks Steve! Yeah I thought this was more consultant than the first. Not sure when I’ll get around the 3rd one. From what I’ve heard it’s a pretty noticeable downgrade from the first 2
Heyyyy welcome back Rob. So glade your on the mend. I really enjoyed this one wayyyy more than the first. Some parts got the hell outta me. Till next time 🤙🏽
I’m starting to think that the person who paid the thugs in the first movie to go get a vhs tape was the kid from this movie in the wrap around segment, it kinda makes sense, we also see pictures of the old man from the first movie in his house
You might want to check out V/H/S 94, next. It's not like these films are linked in any chronological order, much less in terms of story, and 94 is a good branch off from 2. Viral is good, but not as wild as 2.
Yeah I was thinking about just checking that one out next. You’re right it doesn’t seem like there’s any consistent plot to these movies (besides the wrap around I guess?)
That was really sad but I should've come to expect that from the guy who did the school bus scene from Hobo With a Shotgun, just finds new ways of poor taste.
