Wonderful video! I see Yurri, Restaurant Manager. I've sailed with him on Viking Sky, very gracious man. One of the few differences among the Viking fleet is the Planetarium aboard Viking Orion & Jupiter. I prefer the second level of Explorers Lounge to be without, more seating space.
It is funny, now anytime we go on their ships, we see at least a couple crew members that we know from other ships. We tried to take in the Planterium but it was broke down during the entire cruise so I could not review it. I got a couple more booked so hopefully it is working on the next ship.
@patsadventures6381 Yes! & they remember names & preferences. That is stellar hospitality! A bartender from two years ago, remembering I drink bitters & soda & a nightly "nightcap" of a pot of strongly brewed chamomile tea in The Living Room. Creates a warm fuzzy family feeling from the crew.
Great video. I like that all of their ships are virtually identical. My least favorite restaurant is the Chef's Table. It is still good, and we typically visit once during our trip. However, since the menu changes every 3 days, we wait until we are onboard and know what the specific menu is before making a reservation.
Regarding the Chef's table, same with me. My least favorite. It showed booked full every night, yet when I stuck my head in the film there were only a couple tables filled and that was prime dinner hours. We just love their ships and their crew. Thanks for watching.
The Chefs Table is clearly the least favorite among many passengers. The portions are small & there's no wow factor to the experience. Feels very production line presentation. Alway pop up to World Cafe afterwards. I know Viking meant well in the concept, but it's not in league of The Restaurant or Manfredi's. The room itself is beautiful.

Pat, Thanks for the ship tour. We have a trip planned on this ship for the British Isles. Can you share you thoughts on dress / attire for dinner in some of the restaurants? TIA!
The evening dress is "smart casual" and most men do not wear jackets but you will see others wearing them. Pretty much the same for the women, "dressy casual" - some in dresses others in pants. All people really look sharp in my opinion. We are doing the British Isles net year and looking forward to that one. Thanks for watching!

Pat, I want to thank you for the good laugh you just gave me haha. I see you got a video of my father getting a little animated in the Explorer's Lounge. Not sure which night that was, but Bharat kicked us out of there 2 of the nights. As far as the Chef's Table goes, I enjoy the food they serve there as it is quite unique. However I don't like that it doesn't fill you up, so I have learned to either go to the World Cafe before or after eating there and get some extra food.
That is so true about the Chef's table. It is hit and miss with the meals and the portions are so small. I have ate there a number of times and only had one meal I considered outstanding. But others RAVE about it. When I filmed it, that was prime dining time yet there were only a few tables fill and the reservations said all booked. I thought you would like the part with your father in the video and left that part in....beautiful evenings in that lounge.

Our previous cruise, my father planned all of the excursions, and I wasn't asked about going on the cruise until about 2 months prior to leaving for the cruise. I had no clue what to expect since I didn't have much time to research Viking, but I still had fun despite not enjoying some of the excursions. With this cruise I had already researched some of the stuff to do 2-3 years ago before my father asked if I wanted to go on this itinerary. Before the trip I don't think he was super excited about doing the Vasa Museum, but once he stepped foot in the museum, I think he quickly realized why I had it as one of our top 3 excursions. I would love to meet up with you guys on another cruise! Hope all is well with you guys!!
@@patsadventures6381 This is interesting news about the Chef's Table. Having only cruised with Viking on river cruises, I am a bit anxious about going on a much larger vessel. But knowing this, I probably will stay away from the CT rather than remain hungry!
Great video. Very helpful and well edited. Kudos. Is the Nordic Spa and Fitness Center included or is there an extra fee to use it? Keeping in mind that we won't be booking an Explorer Suite :)
The sauna, snow grotto, jacuzzi pool and fitness center are all included....no extra charge. Obviously the spa services ( massage, facial, etc.) have charges. Great thing about Viking is you do not get nickel and dimed to death like other lines. Glad you liked the video and hopefully it was helpful.
Are the Bose headsets the same ones that you showed in the cabin for the tours? I ask because I wear hearing aids and I'm concerned that they won't play nice when watching a movie or taking an excursion.
If I'm understanding you correctly, the Bose headsets are only used for movies. The QuietVox's in your room have earbuds that you put into your ears. I know other people have purchased a device like AirFly or something similar that you can plug into the QuietVox and then pair it to your hearing aids.
The Bose headsets are only for the movies under the stars. The QuietVox has the earbud you put into your ears....those are not the greatest. Thanks for warching and hope that helps.
