THE FACT IS PLAYING IN YOUR STOCKINGS IS FAR BETTER WITH EXCELLENT FEEL AND CONTROL THAN PLAYING IN SHOES!!! SHOES ARE NOT NECESSARY!!!!! YOU ARE GIVING INCORRECT INFORMATION!!!!

Francesca does not opine about shoes or socks, nor is such a choice relevant to composers. Most professional organists playing large pipe organs use shoes design especially for the task. Socks make toe/heel alternation more contorted, but some players do it well. It is a personal choice, best judged by results.

Playing without shoes (with a good heel) makes pedalling much more difficult even though it is how I practice most of the time!

I watched this beautifully presented video all the way through and at no point did the presenter say anything about footwear at all. Every video I have seen by a professional organist they have been wearing shoes, so I am interested to know your qualifications behind your comment.

I was a student of GTB and i can assure you that it would never have been tolerated nor possible as toe-heel was used everywhere up to a fourth of an octave.
