Death Knight is actually really good because with a high percentage scholar blood type and the spell armor set plus the jewel that increases its duration by 40% you can have a one hundred percent up time on it
I used Mosquito in p3/p4 of brutal dracula solo. It's actually quite strong in PvE, especially in the t2 rifts in Mortium due to the AoE fear it has, plus the shielding and wisp healing you can get with it in jewels. I think as you mentioned in another comment, it's really down to preference, I think many of the spells are very strong with the right build and jewels. in p1/p2 of brutal dracula, I used corrupted skull with 2 projectiles in the jewel, so it always spawned 2 skellies per hit, and I used spectral wolf with jewel that makes it bounce back to heal me. It helped heal me, give me more reset procs with 100 scholar, and corrupted skull was pumping out skellies. Ward of the Damned is good but with its nerfs and depending on the boss attack patterns, it can be hard to consistently spawn a lot of skellies the way corrupted skull does. In Solarus, you can spawn hella skellies with Ward though, for example
I'll be honest death knight + corrupted skull with veil of illusion carried me hard in brutal mode the amount of adds you can have for bosses cannot be understated it takes away aggro from you and you can apply pressure to the bosses you also get access to 15% dmg multiplier from unholy and the dodge provides phantasm for spell cooldown and free cast is a really good pair.
@@the_gang_gangyeah ngl I’m coming in in the PlayStation era and I’m almost through my first PvE playthrough and I can’t say I really tried ice block and red beam but so far army of the dead and big illusion titan have been the most successful, the immunity to collect your thoughts and stuff though with the lightning ult dash is incredible but ngl the undead spells should be sooo much higher but I know this is a mix between PvE and PvP but in PvE the skeleton knight and the corrupted skulls with the gem to get two at once make it the best boss combo like in the game period Edit: the best combo for boss dps, you all just wail on them
I thought it was a decent list/discussion overall. Was interesting to hear a more PvE focused person’s view on the spells since im mostly a PvP person myself.

I use it every time I play outside of bossing. Auto chains that can heals you and does side cent damage and could reset itself multiple time. It doesn't belong in that lower tier.
This was a good video. Helped me know more spells. The only one I disagree with is lightning curtain being so low especially with jewels. I had a versatile jewel that if you or ally pass through it it will give you a shield and haste. It also blocks almost ALL range attacks and lasts longer than most wards. So it's useful both in melee and at ranged. I will say the damage is a little on the low side.
I just subscribed. I don't agree with some of your choices but I like your explanations. Nevertheless since you insisted on a PVE oriented list, I don't think you should have put in S or A tier, spells because of their PVP worth. If you ever do another PVE tier for V-Rising, if you could please consider Adam (the only one I'm stuck against in brutal) in your spell efficiency, that could be great. He seems imo to be a great standard for boss encounters. You add to it the crowd efficiency of the spell and it might give a nice high level PVE tier base. Damn', Adam is really my new Malenia... I obliterated her. I won't fail here. 🙂
In hindsight I should've just placed them based off our pve experience. Adam is rough on brutal, but I found the slashers helped a lot with the invisibility. Good luck 👍
Good list. After 300+hrs i would definately say this is a good one. Do not listen to the haters. You could probably make use of most of these with certain builds or certain bosses or with certain play styres. Its a tough ball game to try and generalisere. I mostly agree with the list. Alltho i love u holy tho. Because its fun. Except on Maja..
With all due respect, it feels like you are rating spells without building into them and unveiling their potential. As a person who's played a full frost build, your assessment sounds like you've never actually built into it. For example, a lot of spells have +DMG jewel modifiers. Frost had that and +DMG to enemies that are chilled. That's a big deal when it all comes together. It's a TRUCKLOAD of damage if you leverage its strengths. Also, spectral wolf just gets up to 1 extra bounce with a jewel. Not a bunch more just 1. (playing full illusion now in brutal, still learning this tree though) Thanks for the tier list though. Don't take my feedback as an attack or anything. Still a nice appetizer to hear others opening opinions.
Me and my buddy are having trouble on the 83 V Bloods and are 85 ourselves. Any recommendations for spells to deal with Gorecrusher, Styx, and Valencia?
I‘ve beaten all three with the necromancer build. Valencia was extremely hard for me since she pretty much oneshots you if she manages to put you into the crystal. The others were pretty ok since all your summons take the bosses aggro.
Get(buy from vamp trader its about 1/3 odds to get it) Mortira's lament(legendary scythe condemns+summons skelies+a ton of spellcasting bonuses) and use sanguine coil(with extra charge&dmg to heal yourself)+ smth like choas volley(or any other massive damage output spell) and keep your distance.
As much as I appreciate the YT grind, you should definitely change the title to "My Spell Tier List" simply because you're incorrect on so many takes. Any new player that will end up watching your video hoping to find the S tier PvP spells will be extremely misguided. Just as an example, you started off the video by placing Aftershock in C when in reality, it's actually one of the best chaos school spells in 1.0 as long as you know what jewels you need for it.
@@romerus6087 regardless of build, the most essential jewel effect you need is the fading snare, and on the opposite end, make sure you avoid the knockback effect
Volatile Arachnid does a TON of damage, IDK what you're thinking putting it in B tier. It also acts as a lure, pulling enemies and bosses attention to the very things that are about to blow up in their face. Same with the Mosquito, any ability that pulls attention away from me allows me to reposition and attack.
Yeah I mentioned that it does the most damage from an ultimate, if I remember correctly. However that's also assuming you land the initial impact and the spider explodes as well. I did not realize it lures enemies away though, with that I agree it should have at least been A tier
Thanks for the tier list, it's always nice to hear other peoples perspective, even if you disagree on some things. I wish there were more V Rising tier lists in general. As a console player, I can't stand using any ability that I have to aim like ball lightning, the control is just not there with a controller vs a mouse for accurate placement, so sadly I must avoid all abilities like this just for that reason. I'm also only gear level 62 but I have had a lot of success using aftershock, wraith spear, and heart strike which are in your B/C tiers. I play on normal difficulty which tbh, is no walk in the park. I was able to defeat many difficult bosses, sometimes even 3-6 levels above me with these skills. I love that wraith spear can let you evade an attack and then immediately follow-up with an attack of your own, hits multiple targets, and damage is good---very handy. Aftershock is a great ability to kite with because of the delayed damage effect, since you can put it down preemptively and maintain LoS while a boss who otherwise attacks fast and frequently walks into it, whereas if you had to cast it while in LoS you might be hit by their attacks during the casting animation. Heart Strike can put you at a safe distance while also healing you, has come in clutch for multiple boss encounters. Ultimately, opinions about abilities I think largely boils down to whether you play on console or PC + personal play style. Thanks again for sharing yours! As a side note, I am trying to warm up to the idea of using a frost build even though so far I find the frost school of magic underwhelming, purely because I cannot stand playing with any other weapon than the mace and know the legendary one is imbued with frost magic and relies on freezing enemies to get the most out of it. Lately been playing with Frost Bat instead of Aftershock and so far it's been decent. Hopefully I can find a frost build that works for me, we will see.
Frost barrier is S tier, cor. skull, wolf and spear easy S tier, sanguine coil A, heart strike should swap place with Crimson Beam any spell that locks you in place cant be S tier simple as that, Ice shield you are trolling with it its most useless spell, yes you can survive some long attacks but waste of dps if you ask me, why would you stay still and tank damage instead of doing it, i cant understand that.
Ice shield does a lot of damage. Each block triggers a 40% dmg effect, it can trigger up to 8 times, so 40*8 = 320% dmg from a single defensive spell. For bosses like Styx, Solarus and other projectile heavy bosses, you can just put ice shield up, get close to the boss and proc it 8 times for huge damage.
@the_gang_gang it is pretty good for pve on v bloods but eh on trash. I'd make it mid c at best in it's current state. You can use it to cheese the hell out of one of Dracula phases too (won't say which so I don't spoil it for ya)
@@the_gang_gang In my opinion, mosquito is unironically OP in PvE for farming mobs with Unholy builds with the correct jewel modifiers (shield and heal your skeletons while fearing other mobs). It is my go for farming stygian shards from rift incursions. I like using it with double projectile corrupted skull with exploding skeletons which you can trigger when they are about to perish. You can use veil of chaos or illusion for mobility. You could add high percent scholar blood with arcane animator, flowing sorcery and sanguine mastery as the passive abilities if you really wanted to spice it up. Use whatever as your ultimate ability. I like chaos barrage or the condemn ultimates. I can see it working with crimson beam as well. I have not tried this in PvP.
Do ur thing bro, I think ppl forget what a "normal" person plays and chooses, he said he doesnt play pvp and obviously its his opinion with his playthrough, everything dont have to be meta because a big youtuber said so or its in all other videos
i play solo brutal & this tier list feels quite inaccurate like only measuring the vibe of the individual spells but not using the most compatible spells to combo with, blood type, equipment, & debuff. also at 24:15 ward of the damned can only summon up to 5 skeletons not 15
Discharge in B tier is all you need to know to disregard the tier list for anything pvp related and for PvE you got "trash tier" spells like mosquito that have youtube videos shown to trash brutal dracula, other interesting choices is lightning curtain/bloodrage/deathknight in D tier when they are incredibly powerful with unique effects and frostshield rated low when on projectile heavy bosses it can do ultimate levels of damage.
