THE FIRST TAKE is a RU-vid Channel dedicated to filming musicians and singers performing in a single take.
Episode 360 welcomes V of BTS for the first time on THE FIRST TAKE. Layover marks V’s first official solo album, and ADOR’s president and executive producer Hee Jin Min oversaw the entire production process for this album.
On THE FIRST TAKE, V staged the piano version of the album's focus track “Slow Dancing.” “Slow Dancing” is a pop R&B song based on the 1970s romantic soul sound, and the piano version offers a different character from the original.

Lol. You haven’t heard V’s stigma yet. That one live is a must, he showcases his jazzy/ r&B vocals and the high notes are a sight to see. V has the widest vocal range in the group. Check out Stigma and Singularity by V and also his tiny desk which was a band session with the flavour of Motown jaws/soul R&B

UK ARMY here. This track from V got to #24 (I think) so not bad for his first solo EP release, to get into the UK top 40 isn't easy. AND while singing partially in Korean don't forget!💜

He is humble from humble beginnings with a voice and visuals that surpasses Helen of Troy. You nailed his influence ability and his sound. I am aware of that 70s and 80s sound you referred to. I would highly recommend BTS solo and group.

Great commentary! If you would like to enjoy more of a jazz take, please watch V Of BTS on Tiny Desk Korea (includes saxophone version) and “Slow Dancing Band Session” (flute version) with a peek at V even playing the saxophone at the end. Also Le Jazz de V , which is a true jazz cover of the classic “Cheek to Cheek”. All are live performances, Taehyung is such a talented musician and I agree that there’s something quite charming about him that just draws you in!

Thanks for the reaction. Being humble isn't a persona actually he has always been down to earth & simple from debut & continues to be. It was funny about his voice not suiting his looks yes when you first hear him it can be surprising. It was funnier when you thought he was someone rich who went to an exclusive private school & then decided to start to sing. The exact opposite of this is the truth he comes from a poor family who were farmers & was raised by his grandmother. The part about him being an influencer is spot on. He just recently bacame Cartier brand ambassador & whenever they put out photos or videos of him wearing the jewellery he literally sells out those items he was wearing on their website. The cheapest being a $15,000 ring to a $250,000 bracelet etc. He is also ambassador for Celine & the same happens with their clothes they don't call him sold out king for nothing. Anyway many of his solo songs are quite jazzy & soulful. He has also done some classic jazz covers my favourite is 'Cheek to cheek' which is on Bangtan Tv channel video is called 'Le Jazz de V'. 👍✌️

Slow dancing band performance has a video at the end of V playing sax. I think jazz over the years of him playing and listening, formed his voice, and him having natural deeper tone than it is usual fpr kpop, turned it into this unique tone and tember. He absolutely embodies rnb amd jazz. One black reactor joked that: someone has to take V to the black church on Sunday😂 and we agree, he would enjoy gell out of it😂

Thanks for the reaction. So all BTS members will be serving in the South Korean military by the end of this year. As a result all the members have released solo albums and singles before enlisting. They'll be reuniting as a group in 2025.

All the members of BTS have recently released their solo albums and singles and I assure you that you will see an incredible diversity of styles and that they all have great work!!!!!Guaranteed that you will not get bored, they are 7 incredible musicians, singers and rappers individually and when they get together they are the incredible great group that they are.

Honesty and humbleness, absolutely. V delivers in such an easy manner, even when he is singing his parts in the glorious song “Your Eyes Tell,” where you hear his incredible range. I love all the members, but SUGA is my bias, RM should rule the world, Jin is The Entertainer, Jimin IS magic, Jungkook is Superman, and I’m in love with JHope,...but V is so cool, I just want to BE him, lol.

I have never enjoyed watching a reaction video to a song as much as I enjoyed yours. Your focus is so point on everything that invited me in, to follow this man's career. I have seen a huge slew of handsome men, handsome singers, but when I first heard him doing a song that wasn't even theirs, I was in disbelief that it was his, so I had to check everyrhing they did to see if it was not a fluke. Here I am now three years into supporting their group because of him, waiting patiently for him to finally release his own album. I am so glad to say that I am so completely satisfied for the fruits of my patience. And your reaction made me subscribe by the way, I wish more reactors were like this, more about the song they are reacting to like you are. Will check your other videos. Thank you

"His vocals don't match him." Wonder why? Coz V was born in the wrong era and has an old soul. You should see "Le Jazz de V"... his jazz cover of 'It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas' (Bing Crosby) and 'Cheek to Cheek' (Ella Fitzgerald). Also, I suggest you watch Tiny Desk Korea... a live performance of his three songs in Layover album, he got a whole band there.

Great to find another Brit reacting to the men of BTS. Ahh Rick Ashley with his amazing voice. The thing with BTS is that although they are base in Hip Hop they are lovers of music and will use whatever genre or mix of genre's they feel like and do it extremely well. As they are all Song Writers, Composer and Producers each to a lesser or greater extend. Most of the members can at least play one instrument. These are just some of the reasons they are the globe super group along with the fact they are all solo artists. They all are all very humble blokes. He's always had that low soulful voice and he use's it in BTS but he has quite a range like most of the BTS members. All 7 have great voices including the 3 Rappers. No one would cry if had a girlfriend or boyfriend as long as he's happy. BTS fan baseARMY is mainly a mature fanbase. All South Korean males must serve a18months in the military as they are still at war techincally with that despot in North Korea. (BTS members are South Korean) BTS are not Japanese. 3 members are now serving Jin, and 2 of the Rappers eg J Hope and Suga (aka Agust D). Everyone is doing their solo work before entering. They'll be together as group once again in 2025 sometime around May depending on when the other 4 members start their military service.

Not sure it is his preference to be blonde. Over the year's he's had blue, red, pink, brown, mint green and silvery grey. It's a kpop thing to change looks with each new project/comeback. Keeps things interesting for sure. I believe he's said in interviews he prefers his natural black hair color. 😊 💜

Apparently you don’t know him well. He has gone several recent years with dark hair. Between 2021 and 2023. And Michael Jackson had a skin condition that turned his skin white. That’s why he used something to even it out rather than having patches of white. You’re a very judgmental person for someone who doesn’t know very much about either artist apparently

In S. Korea part of being an "idol" is more than the music. It's the hair, makeup and overall styling especially with new music and this young man isn't doing anything THAT special when he colors his hair. It's very much a cultural thing that can be a bit daunting when someone first experiences this.
