Chris De Burgh dances a waltz, he is skinning his partner alive all the while, despite their struggles his every step is perfect, as he sings and goes cheek to degloved cheek. The rest of the ballroom is too paralysed with horror and revulsion to intervene. All shots in slow motion.
THANK YOU for posting this. There was another video where the audio was synced to match up with a live De Burgh performance. I was devastated when I realized that video had been deleted, and elated to have now found it again! Does anyone have or know where I can get a copy of that other vid?
Anyone know what happened to the version of this that someone had synced perfectly with the video of the live performance - it was here a while ago (3 years ago?)... Thanks to Stevie for posting this one!!!
I think you've not quite grasped the meaning of what I wrote if you think I'm angry, or even defending the "product". (Though for the record I would prefer to hear this over the original every day of the week.) The thing is, Magnus, I'm maintaining my individual integrity here too. I take winding up slightly pretentious windbags on the internet very seriously indeed. I'm doing just that. Hey, I even kinda liked your song! I did listen to it at least. (Still prefer this. Sorry.)
Well, this is turning very civil! I feel a little bad now for calling you "pretentious". I would disagree that your initial post was giving 'an opinion in a structured and constructive manner' but other than that you seem a fairly reasonable chap. Your English is very good, don't worry about that.
i think you've not quite grasped the meaning of what i wrote if you're referring to my statement on individual integrity in the arts and the apparent lack of it in modern art disciplines. i'm not looking to get famous, in fact i most certainly never will be. i'm looking to do something different yet maintain what i perceive as integrity as i do it. i'm doing just that. getting angry and defending the (generic) product of another person on the internet could be seen as the opposite.
Magnus, I think there lies within every individual some basic need to leave behind a legacy but sadly no-one is listening to your attempts, preferring instead to listen to distorted Chris de Burgh records. Can see why you'd be a little miffed but hey-ho, there we go.
strange how simply writing an opinion in a structured and constructive manner is considered "pretentious" just due to there being some slight piece of pathos in the delivery... like there's an internet jante law controlling everything. english isn't my first language and maybe there's something lost in translation that makes me come off as a dick and for that i'm sorry. anyway; i can't appreciate this music because, to me, it sounds simple. like if you put MS Paint in MoMa. "Pretentious"
