The attention to detail and quality of engineering is totally over the top for a " use only once" machine. It must have been a very expensive to produce.
They were relatively cheap. It was the V2 that was expensive. The British did a cost analysis and came to the conclusion that the British Lancaster bomber could carry a much bigger payload with far more effect and accuracy. The man hours and expense of making a V2 was about the same as making a Lancaster.. It was as if the Germans were building bombers for only one trip and then crashing them into the enemy target each time. Not cost effective at all.
while this was very impressive at the time, today's cruise missiles have actual microprocessors which use terrain data information and satellite command to guide themselves. These V-1 bombs were already, intended to be cheap, so the only form of "guidance" they had was a gyroscope which was used to basically keep themselves straight and level in flight, and the method of "finding the target" was adjusting the fuel load and launch direction so that they ran out and dropped out of the sky at an optimal moment. Still very impressive though. modern cruise missiles can be directed across a varied course to avoid air defences etc. By the way, did you know that if the war had gone on perhaps a year more, the Germans would be flinging Anti Tank Guided missiles at the allies, as well as surface to air, and air to air missiles? The v2, was also supposed to have successors, which could strike America these ballistic missiles would've had staging and would much closer resemble modern ICBMS, minus the nuclear charge the Germans also were building a coal powered fighter powering tanks with wood had designs for a plane with a rotatable tail had work done on a plane who's wings spun were building methods to launch v2's from Uboats had the only military helicopters had night vision on tanks had thermals on soldiers developed an incredibly effective camouflage scheme which was copied by many nations postwar such as Russia, and is very similar looking (coincidentally) to modern Bundeswehr camo? (seriously look up the SS camouflage, you can barely tell where the people are hiding in the demonstration video) Insane really
I'm guessing that this was a training film of some kind. It is far too technical, and letting out too many secrets, to be for the German public during the war.
The British have always been the best warriors in the world! It was only thanks to the energy and intelligence of the British that other countries were drawn into the war against Germany. And only under the leadership of Britain were they able to defeat Germany.
@@Capricornus71 Without American and British help, the Russians could not have defeated anyone. Russia was a backward agricultural country. There were no highways; most of the transportation was carried out on horses. All tanks and aircraft were produced under Western licenses from low-quality materials and they immediately broke down. Germany was not defeated by the Russians, Germany and Italy were defeated by an international coalition of many countries, led by the United States and Britain.
@@curtisjackson40 The British fought on a par with America and won that war together with America and thanks to American and Canadian economic power. As for France, she fought for less than a month and then surrendered. The Soviet Union, not Russia, lost 40 million killed, because it drove its soldiers to the German machine guns, not counting human casualties. The Soviet Union, like Britain, received military equipment and products from America. And the USSR never had any airliners. All aerial bombardments of German cities and factories were carried out only by the United States and Britain.
Eh, sorry, but while Britain was trying to involve its colonies in the war, caring just zero if all the Indians, Greeks or Egyptians die, in order to bind german powers and keep them far away from Britain, the Soviets were dying in the millions to free Europe... Almost no British died, while 29millions Soviets died, alone 3million Soviets/POW were let to die of starvation and cold in winter prison, so to spare the bullets of their executions... The British, as always, proved to be the greatest cowards in history, and cared just for saving their empire... This subhuman behaviour shouldn´t go down well with India, at least, so, the empire would be lost anyway... Nazi-madness didn´t just uncover the problems that Germany had, but created a situation were ALL problems became around the orld became obvious, for example, the hate of the british colonies against britain, after so many centuries of submission, exploitation and slavery, and many, many other ploblems... After the war, Britain was not a hero, but just has made obvious for everyone to see, what everyone couldn´t afford saying before the war. In Greece, a british colony, the British openly cooperated with the Nazis: In many occasions at the war´s end, greek fighters conquered german military bases, often in cooperation with their british overlords. Those greek fighters, of course, after 5 years of fighting, and having just taken the Nazis (their suppressors) as POWs, wouldn´t accept anymore being the servants of Britain, but that was still the status quo. In many cases, the german just-POWs were directly armed by the british and set free, in order to fight together their greek allies, that were thriving for independence, promising to the Nazis to not judge them too harsh, in the war´s aftermath. That´s treason, and that´s the only thing the British have talent for, and not for being "brave" or the "best"... ;-) After the Germans were gone, the British even armed, financed and adviced the greek-Nazis, that previously collaborated with the german Nazis, and thus funded a 3-years-civil-war, that killed as many greek-WW2-fighters, as the Nazis have killed during te whole WW2. Only after their finances became very bad, they pulled back, and let the US finance, arm and advice the greek-Nazis, which should finally win the civil war at 1949. In other words, the british first draw Greece in WW2, just to protect Britain, and in the aftermath, the war lasted double as long (cause of civil war), and double as many Greeks were killed. The first part of war/killing was done by the Nazis, lured in Greece by Britain, as Greece was aimed for sacrifice (1941-45), and the second part of war/killing was done singlehandedly by Britain, in form of a civil war (1945-49).
