I really admire your courage and strong mind to explore those remote sites alone, I really do. And I also extremely envy your colorful life and independence. Being alone is not hard, the facing of unknown risk and issue (like vehicle problem, trail condition, land slide….) is hard !! I believe it is the passion and the nature of personality supporting what you have been doing amazingly for years !! It is a remarkable experience in your life time !!
I think it needs to be said. You are an amazing photographer. Your first two shots in this video are particularly beautiful/interesting. The composition on the sunrise is amazing. Thank you for doing what you do.
I always love your photography and filming. I need to know how you pulled off the filming sequence at 5:00 mins since you are solo and you made it look like someone is filming you. What’s your secret? 😮
❤I really do love your videos! Appreciate the slow pan of the range of mountains. You know what your viewers want to see and that is full filled with this video. This could have been 30 minutes, you would not have gotten a complaint from me! Adventure is definitely afoot!!! Travel on.😊
This episode was epic Chris! If your looking for places to go, the eastern Sierra ( Bishop, Mammoth, Lee Vining, ) is starting to get some nice color! We just got back ourselves and gave our JKU a bit of a workout. Your off road footage rates 10/10 today!👌
From the beautiful opening shots to the close ups of wheel-against-rock towards the end, a sparkling compilation of trekkiing, hiking, and absorbing the scenery. Thanks for the weekly look, which I look forward to so much, of what I'll probably never be able to do myself. Your calmness on those roads is just amazing. Stay well.
So cool to see you getting the most out of your jeep! What is the switch panel you are using for Aux switches? I noticed a quick glimpse of it by your go pro mount in the vid. Keep up the adventure!
During the summer, you absolutely want off the beaten path tracks like Chris travels. In the San Juans during the summer, any main tracks are completely overrun with people, and dispersed campsites are mostly already claimed.
Great video Chris. Snow in the Rockies, the aspens, and Orangie doing what Orangie does best. Awesome. But...no cooking? Hey, what was the engine surge diagnosis/fix?
Your last video you cut off the comment section for some reason which is fine so I thought I'd add it to this one. I really enjoy your videos you and there's another young man up in Canada. Foresty forest. He lives out of a van four-wheel drive van. It cruises the mountains with his dog. You and him are the only two that I watch. Everybody else is trying to sell you something. I don't like that. If I need something I'll go get it. I don't need every outdoor channel to tell me what I should buy, but other than that you're one of the better ones out there and I really enjoy your videos. Looking forward to your next one. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
How often do you actually use your 4 wheel drive? I find in my travels I use it very little to get where I'm going, but frequently to get controlled down from steep places.
Chris thank you for sharing your adventures, appreciate being able to “vacation” every weekend. If you and Shannon are headed to NM I’d love to meet up with you although it would have to be on pavement as I’m not an off roader yet. Safe travels
He never listens and refuses to carry a weapon to protect himself. I survived a Mountain Lion attack 21 years ago and was lucky.Chris would be a tasty snack.
@@irishdefense77 I would want to carry a firearm too. But that immediately limits the states and countries (not Canada) that he could travel to. Freedom doesn’t go as far as he travels.
@@notreallyme425 Chris travels the US and lives out of his Van or the Jeep-a firearm can be kept in either while locked separately from ammunition. If traveling or hiking in places there are mountain lions-these states allow open or concealed carry of said firearms. He is just one of those people who don’t believe in them or are scared of them.A training issue.
@@irishdefense77 I don’t know what Chris believes, but as a gun owner I’d be more scared of what a state trooper in IL or CA can do to me vs any wildlife. I agree with you, Im just pointing out that traveling with a gun isn’t that simple. There was a single mom in Pennsylvania that took a wrong turn and landed up in NJ. She got pulled over by a cop while trying to turn around to go home and landed up in jail because she had a gun. Legal gun owner in Penn, jail time in NJ.
@@notreallyme425 I happen to be a State Police Investigator-and the woman you spoke of got herself into trouble by allowing an illegal search of her vehicle.Whatever traffic infraction she was stopped for does not rise to reasonable articulable suspicion that a crime was about to be committed. She consented to a search. That’s on her and on the overzealous LEO who violated her rights because she let him. This is still America-and you have a right to have firearms-the law is clear wherever you travel to,and as long as your firearms are locked up and ammunition is also locked in a separate container-you can drive from state to state with them-same thing if you want to fly with firearms-follow the rules-which are clearly written-you’re fine.
I believe that is gear whine from the transfer case in low range. Differentials are ring and pinion gears and don't whine at low speed. Transfer case gears are either straight cut or helical cut. It should have a chain drive "T"case, with a 4 to 1 ratio low range being a Rubicon.
Excellent action video and still-like shots. The editing is superb. Why I like this installment: No domestic footage. To wit: A comment from my wife (also a long-time viewer) who became increasingly disinterested in this channel, was, “It’s different now. It’s like viewing someone’s home movies of their honeymoon”. I tend to agree. Whenever you to go back to your home base vehicle and show scenes of your ‘domestic life’, it breaks the spell of the solo adventurer. I am SO happy you found a great life companion, but my 2 cents is: Keep your private life private.
My wife and I have been watching you’re episodes for years and years. I will say, as where your videos are still beautiful, you seem to now be down to 1 day of actual videoing travels, and the rest is 3 minutes of intro and 2 minutes of outro. Use to be we would see all days of travel, visiting towns, cheap pizza/coffee joints, camping and such. Now it seems to be forced gathering of videos so you can quickly get back to Shannon. I appreciate all you have done and super happy for what looks to be a happier lifestyle for you, but your change in format and the fact that it’s really lower amounts of content is making it less enjoyable.
Ever since Shannon came into the picture, this channel has been on the decline unfortunately. Too bad he wasn't still with Jenn. She was fun and complimented the channel quite well.
@@TheCaseyCunningham Well, I´m happy he found her and I hope he´s happy too. This is more important. But, his videos are going different ways. I like his work, and like seeing the places he goes. Unfortunately, he´s venturing less.
