Chris, I watch a lot of overland type channels and in my opinion you are one of the best at capturing and documenting your travels. The small details like mentioning the date and time is something many others don't think to do. From experience I know how difficult the entire process of videotaping and editing can be and you do a great job. it's a lot of work and it's appreciated.
FERNDALE! That is one of my all time FAVORITE spots on earth. The area around there. I grew up by there. I have stayed where you were at this point. I used to live in Ferndale. I love watching your videos
Chris, your humble, intelligent style and dry sense of humor makes it easy for subscribers to feel like they're watching a friend's travels. I know you do some on Instagram, but peppering the YT comments section with a few selective replies would skyrocket your popularity . You should have ten fold the number of followers and should reap the financial rewards of Subscriber and commercial support.
Chris I’m loving all the places you discover. Yes some of those “off the beaten path” locations are probably not the safest, but if you stay aware of what’s around you and leave if it seems dangerous you’ll be fine.
I sure enjoy your silly sense of humor. Your videos have a nice relaxing pace and tone. I appreciate that on my Friday evening as I wind down from a hectic week. It’s a refreshing change from most jeeping channels.
Hey Chris - welcome back. Like you im not one to usually comment on RU-vid videos, but I always give a thumbs up in appreciation for the efforts made. I've been watching your videos for only a couple of months now and really enjoying the new life you're now leading. I'm currently watching the back videos and am at the stage where you are readying yourself to get back on the road - "Let there be light" 👍🏼 Keep doing what you're doing, we're all enjoying and some what jealous - especially me of how you live out of you Jeep with less gear than I take to go away for a weekend 😂 In America you have some absolutely stunning picturesque beautiful countryside and if you ever finish discovering over there and ship the Jeep to the UK get in touch as I have land where you can park up for a bit - all the best - safe travels
Awesome video, love watching to see where your next adventure takes you. Alot of it looks like here in Montana. Not sure if you have been through the Bitterroot valley as they call it here! I'm hoping to venture towards Oregon one if these days. Love all the videos of the west coast, gives me ideas of places to check out! ✔💯
Hey man. Noticed you were in 4-Wheel a lot. Just wanna say it takes more fuel. So if it’s not needed, I wouldn’t use it. Great videos! Love the content. Been a sub for awhile.
That enormous pipe coming out of the base of Toketee dam is a hydroelectric flume, carrying water to turbines downstream. I’ve worked on it a few time. There used to by miles and miles of them in the upper rogue national forest. They’re made out of redwood and over 100 years old. Most of the flumes off the Rogue river have been replaced with metal pipe.. I worked on those as well...
Dude: that burned out camper was probably a methlab or a dorm for illegal growers. Easy does it in the back country of NorCal. You could stumble into somewhere where you are not welcome and get yourself into a jam with some unfriendly people who value their privacy to an extreme. Be cautious.
Christopher Mirabile that’s exactly what that was. I’ve driven that road and been right buy that camper. Like Chris said, its amazing they managed to get it back that far.
i was thinking the same. nobody drags a trailer that large down a trail that gnarly and remote unless its not intended to be pulled back out again, likely for unsavory purposes.
I've been thinking the same thing about a lot of these places he goes to...by himself. Northern Cali...Southern deserts...any areas that are just outside of urban areas where people might go to conduct less than legal activities. And he doesn't seem to be prepared with any type of self defense if, God forbid, he stumbles upon some poachers or something.
@venture4wd. Chris I have a Bluetorch fab jeep winch plate mount I never used. If you could use it let me know.. I'll gift it to you. Thanks for keeping us entertained.... love the show!
Love your videos & travels!! That area where the burnt camper was, after you passes it that first bridge .....I saw burnt out timbers underneath it....I wouldn't cross it, it could & will someday collapse!! After you passed that I saw burnt forest, be careful carry a few fire extinguishers for your jeep . Also I saw a cool moveable storage system in a jeep that had wood long boxes that could stack or lay side by side behind front seats along time ago ....was that your site I saw it on?? If so could you please replay that episode??? I look forward to seeing all your beautiful scenery & your jeep living is the best!!!
Really like your adventures and documentation of the,. but you lost tons of points putting ketchup on that hot dog, lol! You have gone and are going to lots of places I have been and others I want to go to. Keep inspiring.
I can't believe that you completely remove the valve core when airing down. I used to work at a tire dealer during high school and many times I have had a valve core pushed from my fingers by the force of outgoing air. It's then lost especially if you are in a wooded area. Why not just push the valve core and release some air or if that's too slow, then loosen it. But taking it completely out is something I would never do. However, I love your videos and am working my way through all of them.
Loved this episode Chris! I grew up in O'Brien and have been exploring the Siskiyou Forest my whole life. I ran the McGrew Fire Road, you took from O'Brien to the coast, probably 5 times this summer. There are a couple secret camps near Rockland that are some of the most beautiful places in Southern Oregon. If you ever come back through let me know and I will share them with you. Thanks for the great videos!
So ein Jeep ist schon ne feine Sache. Da sind wir mit unseren Dacia Duster nicht ganz so geländegängig, aber kommen doch auch schon ganz gut rum. Auf jeden Fall macht es Spaß und man ist schön mobil.
Love the videos! Cant beat the freedom of open road and nature! I see snow might be giving you a bit of trouble? Low PSI is a must for snow especially that powder snow
@@dominatorNWCORNER For sure ! I just use a 12volt pump from viair.. a couple of us use those pumps. Some have onboard air pumps that run off their engine as well!
Chris, really? Nobody, I mean nobody puts ketchup on a hot dog 🌭. Ask Dirty Harry about it! Damn dude ...... lol I love your adventures. I’ve been binge watching them....not sure how I’ll deal with week long intervals now....😂
On your way to O'Brien you passed by a quirky little town called Takilma. It has a neat arts scene, a food co-op at the community center, and there was lady who made a museum in a VW bus in her front yard that documented the "back to the land" hippies who moved there from SF in the 1960s/70s. Interesting people, it's worth exploring if you pass through again with time to kill.
As mentioned in another comment, burned out full size camper in the middle of nowhere would set off my Spidey senses a little as a possible meth/drug lab. As a firefighter I'll tell you if that's what it is it's extremely bad for you to expose yourself to it. It's scetch even in full hazmat geat with training. Definitely be careful Chris!
Hay Chris, Just been a subscriber for a shot time, love all your videos. Probability been asked this before but what software do you use to make your videos? Keep up the great videos and stay safe and dry.
If you haven't already watched Murder Mountain on Netflix make sure you do while in Humboldt County. Love the videos thanks for sharing the open road experience, there is nothing better !!!
I so hope you travel to the Monterey Bay Area and take a trip down 17 mile drive and to Bug Sur! Your artistic videography would be amazing! Please be safe (a nod to @Christopher Mirabile). 2A
Get a couple of heat packs that hunters use to keep there hands warm, stuff 1in your boots and then stuff your socks in.they will be warm in the morning.i use them ,I was a postal worker.
Any way you could share those tracks with me on Gaia? planning a trip to Oregon and wanted to go down to cali would love to stay on dirt long as possible
Hi Chris...1st off, great vid.so many of us from the 60's generation remember that route as though it was yesterday! I have to ask, what is your mounting system, I need something to mount my different devices! Thanks for you
you should consider a winch for your Jeep, I know you tread lightly but the unexpected can happen, it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
Atlas camping and 4wd I think you are right looking at it again. Chris was just on the dam side, not the trail side. Trail side is paved. Still very close. Too close not to check it out...they are majestic and I’m sure he would have been the only soul around.
Great video!!! I can tell you invested into a new camera/video. Videos are a little bit clearer and I like the coastline shots from inside the Jeep when your driving. My wife and I always enjoy your videos and can’t wait to see the next one bud, be safe out there... 👍🏻🇺🇸👍🏻
