Very nice concept model vacuum cleaner by Hoover

A very uncommon concept one

I adore Concept One. They were always my dream vacuum cleaner growing up. Incredibly difficult to find here in the UK as they didn't sell well being far too expensive and heavy for the average British housewife. I can just picture Sheryl in Durham being dragged around her dinning room by the Power Drive, smashing in to her chairs and marking the table legs. Over the years I've managed to acquire four of them. Well, actually three Concept Ones and one Concept Two that I had sent over from America in 1999. They are certainly prides of my collection :)

Nice Concept One variant, the color scheme on that really reminds me of the Sears exclusive Concept One U3339 (but with white wheels).

Dirt fan vacuums as other collector RU-vidr call it are really rare this days. I just found a Sebo-Karcher machine that it’s now on the market besides Hoover-Oreck machines that even use battery. Interestingly you already had cover most Cleaner technologies and I hope to see the other 599 cleaners aleready waiting their 5 minutes of fame. But here is a Hoover how iconic and American a Cleaner can be if your refer to Hoover in my country we use to relate the brand to washing machines. But today that concept only belonged to Whirlpool. Interesting that Hoover it’s still in the market as a Hong Kong brand manufacturing some machines in the US like the portapower that I bought just recently after watching some videos because it works and it cleans and that’s beautiful old tech still solves the dirt issue. It’s nice new cyclone or some fancy colorful bagless but this Hoover as the current Hoover-Oreck still had a bag.

I loved hearing your story about this vacuum. I owe a lot to my Concept One. My fear of it turned into intrigue and it started not only my love of vacuums, but everything else I do today! I'm glad that it's always been in my family, now on the 3rd generation.

I’d saved one of these, in similar shape from a vac shop years ago. It was so bad off I never did anything with it. And I don’t actually remember what I did with it.

Happy Sunday to you! Sure is a swell-looking & -sounding cleaner; love the back story, also! Too bad it was sans the original paperwork & manual. What model number is it, and what is its amperage? I know the U3307 in slate green was its successor in the mid-1980s. I like the color reversal of the two JCP Concepts in the catalog; that was a smart move for JCP, to prevent loss of potential sales of the deluxe model due to color preference. The concurrent Model U3225 that sold at discount stores had the same features as yours albeit in a different color scheme & vertical stripe bag pattern; white the concurrent Model U3223 in its own colors & vertical stripe bag with less features & sold at catalog showroom stores is akin to the other model featured on the JCP 1979 catalog page.
