Nice! Something you can do is heat-seal the sides of the Ziploc bag to strengthen it. It might take 2 times on either side to really melt through the thicker zipper plastic. Luckily my vacuum sealer also has options to just vacuum or just seal, which is nice.

I’ve found many more opportunities to use the heat sealing feature. Yesterday I needed 1/2 bag of frozen French Fries. I cut off the bottom edge of the bag, removed the fries, and heat sealed it closed again avoiding the instructions printed on the bag. Did a similar action with corn bread mix. I also take 6 oz of tomato paste and put it into a vacuum bag. I squeeze out the air and seal the bag. Then I freeze it. When I need paste, I cut the end off the bag, break off what I need, and seal the bag again before it can thaw.
I tried it with my Foodsaver and it initially works but then after the next day are have been let in I have tried it many many ways it still doesn't work for me. 😓
Adriana Reyes, the zipper is leaking. You might need to fold it over and clip it. Also, the zipper fatigues quickly so a few open and close cycles and it leaks. Someone suggested heat sealing it but I did not try it.
