Should be using a back pack vacuum for stairs. 😜😜😜

I love shark liftaway vaccums, they are three vaccums in one, upright, handheld and floor vaccum, plus they have excellent suction. I personally love the rotator professional.

I personally wouldn't recommend using a regular upright on stairs. I would use a canister with a turbo nozzle or a hand held vacuum with a revolving brush. The stairs would be something I would do myself, for safety concerns for the team coming in to clean.

My mum always used to used a big upright hoover senior on the stairs back in the day and those things weighed an absolute ton!!! Did a great job though. Never had any safety issues.

Have you guys ever tried or used the backpack vacs with the power Head? One vac for multiple surfaces? Just curious.
@maidtrainingacademy5213
@maidtrainingacademy5213 5 лет назад
Every vacuum has its pros and cons. Not a big fan of backpack vacs for several reasons. The first is that they can lead to damage claims because users will turn and hit something with the backpack. The second is simply from the feedback from cleaners. I haven't met a cleaner that does. If you like them, then please share your reasons.

Dual Motor uprights do, however single motor uprights such as the one in the video does not turn off due to the motor pulley.

ain't it easier to get a handheld vacuum or a vacuum with a hose its safer aswell not needing to try and hold a big machine
@maidtrainingacademy5213
@maidtrainingacademy5213 5 лет назад
A canister vac does not do as good on carpets because it does not have a beater bar. A canister vac is lighter so you don't have the value of the weight in front to help with balance. And the handheld vacuum would be a 3rd vacuum in the home and that is not practical. With all that in mind, the uprigtht is the right vacuum for carpeted stairs.
@TheSarahCakes
@TheSarahCakes 5 лет назад
There are many canister vacuums on the market with a powerhead nozzle, heck even shopvac has one for their vacuums. This is purely unsafe and wreckless carrying such a large vacuum up stairs.

Don't tell us what you are using. Tell us how you are using it and how your method is safer. I have given all methods considerable thought and we believe our method is the overall best solution. However, I want all the detailed feedback on any alternative method. We are publishing a white paper in 30 days outlining all alternative methods, pros and cons. The bottom line is that if you are working for yourself then you should choose the method you are most comfortable doing. Thanks TheSarahCakes for opening this discussion.

Yes I agree.. I have a Kenmore canister with a small pet pro powerhead for stairs and furniture. And a hard floor attachment and regular powerhead! Much safer and gets the corners better too.

As a vacuum technician I can honestly say…those are the most disgusting vacuums I’ve ever worked on. No proper seal and the bag inlet points down. Who the hell designs a vacuum that way!?!?!
@granthughes1801
@granthughes1801 3 года назад
Kind of funny watching this and knowing this house has a central vacuum. You can see one of the inlets right by the stairs. Much more convenient. 😂

@maidtrainingacademy5213
@maidtrainingacademy5213 3 года назад
NEVER use a customer's central vac unless they require it and then you have them sign a waiver or email acknowledgment. Why? Customers will often request that we empty the central vac after using it and those can be hard to reach and can be hard to disconnect. And often customers fail to empty them enough so the maids are emptying a large container of dirt, etc. Also central vacs often don't have beater bars and if they do they don't work very well. That is why most home owners opt to not use their central vac and go back to an upright, etc. These videos are for professional home cleaners and some of our decisions are not always the best for someone cleaning their own home. But in a professional cleaner world they are the best overall solution.
@granthughes1801
@granthughes1801 3 года назад
@@maidtrainingacademy5213 I can certainly understand your reasoning for not using it. But most modern central vacuums have electrified hoses that provide electricity for a power nozzle to properly clean carpet. They gave us several options when we built our house. My husband does most of the vacuuming and the central vacuum helps a lot with his allergies.

@@maidtrainingacademy5213 Uprights regular use (regardless if its bypass or direct air, such as the one in the video) is just impractical on stairs. I would use a bypass upright vacuum with a hose (or with an extension hose) or canister vacuum and a turbine tool. Another alternative would be a hand vacuum with a revolving brushroll would be a safer alternative rather than using an upright on stairs. Uprights in general, are not really designed for stair use. Uprights with attachments, air powered turbine brushes and extension hoses, canister vacuums and motorized hand vacs would be more practical and safer to use on stairs.
@je19662008
@je19662008 Год назад
That won't work with a cyclone vacuum. You need both hands to lift those and because I have balance issues, I NEED to keep one hand on a bannister at all times.
@tmmaston
@tmmaston Год назад
Hence why you need a handheld with a motorized brush for stairs. The Shark rocket would be perfect for stairs.

Hello Radish. These training videos are for Professional Cleaners. Professional cleaners bring 2 vacuums into the home, an upright and a canister vac for non-carpeted floors. What and how much a team brings in goes into the logic. Radish? That's a bitter root isn't it? Sounds like it. :-)
