Sabha polls began reaching the people, the first person that Narendra Modi visited was his mother in Gandhinagar. In his address to the nation at Vadodara, he spoke about how hard he had worked on the campaign trail and said that even his opponents took notice of his ability to work hard. He thanked all the people of Gujarat who, by electing him three times in succession had played a vital role in vaulting him to the national scene. He also thanked the people of Varanasi who had voted for him. He said that he hoped to run the country based on trust and also spoke about the necessity to have a responsible opposition.
