You guys will not believe the unbelievable sight I witnessed last night in Vadodara, Gujarat. I had heard stories about the massive Garba celebrations that take place all over the state during Navratri, but nothing could have prepared me for the spectacle at United Way of Baroda's main event.
I traveled to Vadodara specifically to experience this festival for myself. When I arrived at the enormous stadium venue, it was absolutely packed - and I mean packed. Reports had said over 100,000 people would be in attendance, but seeing that huge sea of dancers all moving together in synchronized rhythmic bliss was just mind-blowing.
I spent over 2 hours just aimlessly floating around the floor, taking snippets of videos that truly did not do justice to what my eyes were beholding. There were incredible formations happening spontaneously as circles within circles of dancers spun in unison.
If you ever get the chance to visit Gujarat during the Navratri season, do not miss seeing a display of Garba by United Way of Baroda on this massive scale.
