The main goal was to hit the Christmas Markets in Zurich, Switzerland, but with good planning, we were able to
spend some time in Vaduz, Liechtenstein and Como, Italy.
After a 14h drive through Croatia, Slovenia and Austria, we arrived early morning in Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein.
We started exploring its charming town center. The Vaduz Castle, perched on a hill, offered stunning views of the Rhine Valley.
The winter landscape there is breathtaking, with snow-capped mountains and quaint villages in the distance.
We had a short breakfast, and then we set off for Zurich, which is just a short drive away.
Zurich is magical during the Christmas season. We checked into our hotel and headed straight to city center.
We visited the Old Town (Altstadt) and walked along Bahnhofstrasse, one of the world's most exclusive shopping streets, decorated with Christmas lights which add to the Christmas vibe.
The Opera House and the Lake Zurich promenade offered serene views, perfect for a leisurely winter walk.
There were so many Christmas markets, we couldn't decide which one was more beautiful (check the location of each one in the video).
Also, Zurich has lovely viewpoints/terraces where we had a great panoramic view of the city.
We spent 2 days in Zurich which wasn't enough to see everything it has to offer, but we surely enjoyed it.
After a morning coffee and breakfast, we started driving towards Italy. Along the way, we stopped to admire the beautiful Alps and blue lakes.
Arriving in Como around noon, it was the perfect time to enjoy the Italian cuisine for lunch.
Walking through Como as the sun was shining was a relaxing moment after the busy days behind us.
Como was enchanting, with its streets beautifully decorated, and the Piazza del Duomo with a lovely Christmas tree, artisanal goods, and delicious Italian treats.
We started our return journey after enjoying the lake view and the mountains in the distance.
We arrived back in Osijek in the late evening, tired but exhilarated from our exciting road trip.
The memories of the Christmas markets, scenic drives, adventures, and delicious food would stay with us for a long time.
This road trip was a perfect blend of cultural experiences, festive cheer, and stunning natural beauty, making for an unforgettable Christmas journey through Europe.

The Zurich card offers free or reduced admission to many attractions and includes unlimited travel on public transportation.
