As much as Ronnie likes to smack down fellow professional snooker players for their apparent lack of a "snooker brain", in this case Ronnie's superior snooker brain let him down too.
Everyone just think it is a normal victory for Ding but for me it isn't. I think it is a really tough match for Ding to beat Murphy because he hadn't beat Murphy since 2013 Shanghai Masters. Between that and this match, they face each other for around 5-6 times and Murphy somehow usually bring his nearly best to beat Ding. For Ding I believe there is a huge mental obstacles to beat Murphy because the bad memories against Murphy would easily appear in his mind, it is hard to be confident and have a clear mind against an opponent who usually play well against you to beat you and you haven't beat him for a long time. Well played Ding.

It's just that at the beginning of the 2000s, a new generation of extremely talented players emerged, not to mention the fact that Ronnie continued to progress enormously from the years 2002-2003 and after.
