I meant to add this into the video but there was a cool comparative study done on sex ed in the US and UK versus the Netherlands - the latter being more sex positive, with a focus on consent, anatomy, pleasure and equality which is inclusive of female pleasure. they found that teenagers were reported having sex much later and the pregnancy rate is x8 lower than the US and x5 lower than the UK!!!
i had my entire schooling in the netherlqnd and all i got was how to put on a rubber. nobody could take it seriously so the teacher gave up, never had a class about it again the just gave away free condoms. sex education seems to just be shit everywhere, would love to hear anyone disagree! all love❤️
Keelin, you spoke semi recently about how you couldn’t stick to studying one topic and that’s why you didn’t feel successful in college/ for uni and spoke negatively on yourself in that regard. I just want to say that your ability to take in information from such a wide range of topics so consistently and make it understandable, informative and enjoyable is such a valuable skill that you have, even if you felt you couldn’t stick to one topic in depth, the way you’ve learnt such a wide range of topics and taught them to us is such an amazing skill and I’m really grateful for these videos 💗💗💗
Thank you Keelin, I don't think you understand how amazing you are. I aspire to be as educated, kind and charismatic as you are. You help many women feel seen and heard. Thank you for all the effort you put into your videos x
I feel so ashamed of my vaginismus, especially since it comes in waves. This video helped so much. I gave up on helping myself but I’m gonna start again. And I’m buying the book aswell! :)
You look beautiful Keelin. Thanks for all the good information in this video. I really appreciate that you do your research before making these types of videos.
I struggled with vaginismus (and possibly endo) and irregular periods for years and it took so long for a doctor to take me seriously and do the necessary tests/ referral's. Rather than stick me on a birth control that made it worse. I was so excited to see you made a video on this topic, its so so important and no one talks about it!!
can i ask if you managed to 'overcome' vaginismus? if so how? I've never really heard about how people like get past it, and it's super frustrating for me, I've had it for years :(( (no worries if not that's a very personal q lol)
Most people I’ve talked to say seeing a pelvic floor therapist has helped them, I think because most peoples cause for vaginismus is different there isn’t a one fix fits all!! Hope you find the help you need 💕
@@katleach2382 sadly I haven’t overcome it :( like Keelin said, Physiotherapy is the least invasive way to manage it. There is a ‘release’ massage you can do on yourself that works like the dilators, I would definitely see a specialist physiotherapist if you can. Otherwise I’ve seen some people say that they have worked through it with their partner, with emphasis on creating a feeling of comfort and safety around sex. Best thing you can do is prioritise your own wellbeing ❤️
Thanks for this video!! I’ve been struggling with possible vaginismus/ pain since my rape. It’s been a really lonely journey, so hearing ppl talk about this really helps.
Thank you so much for acknowledging the fact that black women and women of colour have a hard time being heard, I’m pretty sure I have endometriosis and literally have history of cyst on my ovaries but have been told to just go on the pill... periods and day to day is still very painful
I’ve been going to a pelvic floor physiotherapist for around half a year and she says that dilators aren’t the only treatment option! (It’s quite Hereronormative because it’s focusing on penetration). Pelvic floor exercises and desensitisation with a bullet vibrator is what she recommended!!
I can only recommend every girl and woman to look at the photographs of Laura Dodsworth. She has photographed the vulvas of over 100 women to show a realistic picture of a normal adult vulva. It really changed the way I felt about mine and how I look like down there and I think it could be really helpful for other girls/women
I just waxed my own vag at 36 weeks pregnant with a mirror 😂😂😂 I just can't stand the feeling of my hair but its honestly more of a sensory issue than for anyone else. Partener really doesn't give a crap 😂😂 Just to be cleared I am a beauty therapist makes things easier 👍
Kinda side topic but a few months ago I discovered this lady Samantha Zipporah shes on a few podcasts, talks a lot about what she calls concious contraception and it’s blew my mind that this information has taken 28 years to come my way, really empowering stuff, just listening to your most recent podcast and would love to hear your opinion on this - I’ve heard soooo many horror stories from friends ie the coil and the thought has always freaked me out of putting anything through my cervix or messing with hormones so yes check her out if you’re interested :) lots of luvvvv!
Bestie you could honestly become a sex educator! Something ireland could use, i was told in school that they couldnt talk about abortion because of the catholic ethos 😬 this is only like 6 years ago
hello does anyone know the name of the pelvic floor app?? i’m 17 and i literally wet myself if i go on a trampoline 💃💃 if anyone else is like me you’re not alone lol also keelin you look fab x
This is really really really random but would you mind sharing the name of your hair dye if you do it yourself? The colour is Gorge! Also thanks so much for this video, you're a star!
