This is phenomenal information. I'm a manual therapist, in practice 26 years. I am going to start checking all my client's uvula's immediately and really look at the causative factors for their cervical ligament laxity, treat what I can, and educate on exercise and postural practices as well. Wish you were in Michigan, but I will refer those who are candidates for the prolotherapy to you. I looked in the mirror and saw that my uvula is deviated to the left. I have chronic asthma, and over the last few years with extremely stressful situations ongoingly, have developed extreme fatigue and difficulty sleeping. Of course I have chronic cervical stiffness and pain. Gonna get serious about that self care. Thank you SO SO much for your time and effort to create these presentations! All manual therapists and doctors need to learn this!! What the heck. God bless!

I have been saying for quite some time to doctors I have seen, that I was in a car accident ( @ 19yrs of age) that damaged my cervical spine and that perhaps the illnesses that I experienced since then (now 65) primarily come from damage to my Vagus Nerve. Some replied "maybe". Not sure how PT can help without fMRI though. I guess I've watched too many episodes of House.

Since you’re a manual therapist, check out Chikly Health Institute for the brain curriculum. All the curricula are fabulous, but the brain curriculum is outstanding. Brain 4 is all about the nuclei for cranial nerves. Barral Institute also has amazing manual therapy curricula. I found this video while preparing for the vagus nerve/ANS class coming up at the end of this week. My partner for the class (and she’s taken lots of Chikly and Barral classes in manual therapy) is an amazing therapist in West Bloomfield, MI.

Il looked at him and told him, "Who do you think you are to treat me like that" and I left his office immediately. I have struggled with each and every one of these issues for my entire adult life, and now that I think about it, my childhood chronic illnesses could have been caused by “military neck” -not to mention the tens of thousands of hours of pain and dollars lost in an effort to fix it. I wish medicine were more responsive to simple solutions like cervical instability and vagus nerve issues as the common sense etiology of most stubborn and/or mysterious causes of chronic illness.

My issues were from a snowboarding accident, affecting my entire back and neck. 1.5 years later I'm 90-95% healed, and after my 1st session relieved years of mid back pain. Now my neck doesn't pop and seems more stable. I've also received around 100 Rolfing sessions over many years. My Rolfing therapist is who referred me to Dr. Alderman. For myself I have a pretty plain and healthy diet. I think it is my thyroids because I had a complete hysterectomy 19 years ago and no hormone treatments ever and my gallbladder removed 28 years with no advise on what to do after surgery. I am hoping in the near future that regenerative medicine and real solutions such as these will become a consistent practice of mainstream medicine. I feel like the current policies of only providing symptom management are a form of discrimination, essentially a way of forcing those with genetically determined conditions to wear a scarlet letter to enforce natural selection.....but the reality is that there is no one free of genetically determined health issues, every family has them. There is no such thing as a perfect genome and diversity is the only way to ensure success of a species. What may seem like a disadvantage to some may be necessary for survival of others or even the species one day.....Insurance companies not covering regenerative medicine is a cruel and inhumane practice and needs to be exposed for what it is...😢

Hi Timothy, We understand that costs can be a limiting factor, as we are not in-network. Many patients with private insurance report receiving a portion reimbursed or applied to their out-of-network deductible, however any programs like Medicare/Medicaid are not eligible for coverage. Most of the time, for chronic pain management, insurance-based practices can only offer pain medication, limited PT, cortisone injections, and some surgeries. Therefore, to receive care outside of that box, it is considered out of network. We always have our prices on our website to give people an idea of what the testing and treatment costs are, as we do want people to be aware and can make an informed decision: www.caringmedical.com/for-patients/pricing-and-payment-policies/ Wish you all the best in health and navigating options to help get you back to where you want to be.

I have a friend that had to be rushed to the hospital He felt a stroke coming on, was diagnosed as a possible epileptic event. He wants to know if you can recommend a practitioner in the tri state area of New Jersey. He is unable to travel to Florida at this time.

Hi Brad, Glad you are not giving up. Sorry to hear about your multiple whiplash injuries over the past 2+ decades! As you've experienced, the longer these things go on, the more complicated health issues become and hope that the webinar helped explain why this is common. Again, glad you are looking into some potential options for testing and treatment to get to the bottom of your neck pain and neurological symptoms. We wish you all the best in healing! If you feel that you would like our team to possibly help you here in our center, you are always welcome to reach out to us directly. Take care, Brad.

Absolutely the same with me. Two bad accidents in my late teens and early 20's led to years of neck issues and chiropractic care. I gave up on the chiropractor when I stopped feeling better after. Then a ridiculous whip-lash injury on a roller-coaster that caused blinding pain in the base of my head and dizziness. My doctor just said to ice and rest. I have felt my health deteriorate ever since. It's been 6 years and I still have pressure in the back of my head with ringing in my ears. I clench my teeth in my sleep. I get "foggier" all the time. It's awful, and no one understands. I KNOW it's from that last injury. I've just never felt right since.

Glad that you're doing some research on this and hope that you are able to find some help in Europe. Can a chiropractor treatment correct pressure on the nerve

Great, thanks for sharing. Thoughts from this perspective re Stuart McGill? A spine guy, with some good perspectives on - and appreciation for - structure / function / damage versus pain, all having relationships between each other that are much less straightforward than commonly assumed in mainstream. Similarly, thoughts on Thomas Myers (Anatomy trains)? The mixture of terms used by different individuals may be variable, however, it all comes down to the same tissues ... ligaments, far from being isolated from each other, are part of the unitary system of fascia.

Thanks so much for this helpful video! I suspect something might be wrong with my vagus nerve, potentially affected by the neck. Thus, I did an MRI of the cervical spine recently, but the neurologist said that it looks fine. However, I'm wondering if there is something that might not be visible on that MRI? Is a pressure/compression/stretching of the vagus nerve identifiable on an MRI at all, or might the MRI look normal while there is actually still something wrong? Would appreciate any guidance!!

I have cervical stenosis. I have right sided trigeminal neuralgia, left arm and back pain. I also keep having chest pain (heart is fine.) My question is if the vagus nerve can make you feel like you're having a myocardial infarction? Pain is constant and when I bend my head to the left it "tweaks" the chest pain. Thank you for posting this webinar.

I have two nerves that are compromised-vagus and the phrenic. The vagus causes all the problems you mentioned and I have been to the ER dozens of times because of it. They are never able to make a diagnosis. The phrenic nerve is making it harder and harder to breathe. I am 61 and wonder if I will be around much longer.

@CaringmedicalProlotherapy 3 года назад
Hi John, Thanks for sharing your story and sorry to hear what you've been going through. We understand that the ER would not specialize in chronic conditions related to this, and we hear about these situations very often. It usually takes someone seeing a specialist to get to the bottom of it. We recently put out some other videos specifically related to the phrenic nerve, not sure if you saw them already, but you may want to check them out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IQkg1K0IR9Y.html. Yesterday, we posted a video of a patient of ours who had struggled with breathing as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yJ2QiJpD-UQ.html There may be something to help you and your local medical team explore some other possibilities. If you would like our team to review your case and see if you sound like a good candidate for our center, we'd be happy to help. Wish you all the best in getting to the bottom of your symptoms and finding resolution. Take care for now.

Hi R Rego, So sorry to hear about your constellation of symptoms. Hope that you gained a better understanding of how these can be connected through the vagus nerve being affected by cervical instability in this webinar series. We understand that not everyone can travel here. Please know that we'd be happy to review your case and see you in our center for help if you are able to travel here in the future. You can reach out to us anytime through our website or email. For now, we hope that you are able to get some better help than the doctors just trying to give you more medication to cover up the symptoms, and someone can work with you on correcting the root cause. Wish you all the best in health.

Been hurting since Feb 2022 with severe neck pain. Just got a CT scan Saturday that showed C! and C2 damage. I've been given nerve inhibitors and muscle relaxers. They make me sick. I can't take them. I've all the symptoms listed on 1:37 of this video. Include vision loss in the right eye with black lines and objects wave at times when I look at them. My entire tongue goes and stays numb for days. I don't think that I am going to be treated well here. And I can't afford to come to you. I don't know what else to do. I've given my doctor all the information. Need someone to listen. The body failure is getting worse.
