Hi everyone, how are you? In this video, I show you bits and pieces about our trip to Vaishno Devi. We stayed in Katra for 2 nights in The Fern Residency. We paid Rs 6700 for 2 nights (Including breakfast). This hotel provides shuttle service to get your RFID card and to Ban Ganga from where you begin your yatra. You will first have to get online Parchi Yatra from www.maavaishnodevi.org We took parchi yatra two days before our yatra day.
RFID card (free of cost) is mandatory for all pilgirms going to Vaishno Devi Yatra. Failing which you will have to pay some fine.There are five ways to reach Bhawan from Ban GangaWalking: You can trek all the way up to Bhawan. It's a 15 km trek with mild and steep inclines. I would recommend you take a new route i.e Himkoti from Adhkuwari in case you wish to walk all the way up.Horses: The official board mentions rate cards, and you don't need to negotiate or bargain further. From Ban Ganga to Bhawan, one side's current horse rates are Rs 1100.Palkhi: The cost of Palkhi for one adult from Ban Ganga to Bhawan is Rs 3450 (old route) and Rs 2850 (new route)Helicopter: If you wish to take Helicopter or Battery cars, you will have to book it at least 2 months in advance. The cost of Helicopter one side i.e Katra to SanjhiChatt is Rs 1800.Battery Cars: Battery Cars run from Adhkuwari to Bhawan and cost Rs 350 per person. It is recommended you book battery cars online as offline slots are subject to availability and luck.
