For those who wonder why Italian clubs don’t compete in this tournament: If Italian clubs had been better in this years’ champions league, they could have competed in this tournament. But in quarter-finals, Vero Volley Milano was eliminated to Vakıf and Imoco was eliminated to Fenerbahçe. Only Novara made it to the semi-finals, but was eliminated to Eczacıbaşı. Also Fenerbahçe was eliminated to Vakıf. So Eczacıbaşı and Vakıf played the finale. Vakıf as the champion, and Eczacı as the runner-up of 2022-2023 Cev Women’s Champions League participated to this tournament.

If they want, they can buy the Wild Card from FIVB. They just don't want to as their league is way more intense than Turkish League, and we all know that CEV CL is way more precious than this CWC, which only takes you a week to win. Any team like Imoco, Monza, Scandicci, Fenerbahce can win this tournament, and tons of Polish, German clubs who can beat any big clubs some day.

⁠@@peterchristenson I agree. Because of that “world” title, they had to involve a club from each continent without considering their level. Sadly the level is low in non-European Clubs. I don’t recall any of them made it to the finals. No wonder why they don’t bother to take a wild card.

⁠@@RobertoMiamiFlorida Please learn Club Volleyball 101 and focus on “Elite” clubs 😂! If only Brazilian clubs had foreign players, too. Because for us spectators it’s very boring to watch their games. To be honest, in terms of level, they don’t even deserve to compete in this tournament.

Outra coisa que quero falar: Tenho percebido que o Vaki usa a GABI mas nesses jogos complicados, nos outros jogos ela fica mais ja defensiva e deixa as novas jogadores no ataque fazendo pontos. Agora nesse jogo como o negocio era mais complicado, eles mandavam bola pra GABI, pois sabem que ela decidi muito, joga demais!!!

Get better Next time Tianjin. After watching the game i realized the importance of a good setter to utilize great attackers. I can't believe the middle blockers who are very good attackers were not utilized to give their best and li ying ying couldn't hit the ball with much strength because the ball setting was always too close to the net that it's too difficult for them to adjust their attacks to avoid the blockers. #3 was able to hit the ball with strong power even tho she was short because the ball was set to her good enough. Although it's too late because the coach didn't use substitute early! So many players but sticking to players who need a break was just so bad!

Li Ying Ying needs to go play in Italy with teammates as talented as her. I know she probably gets paid a lot in Tianjin and she’s comfortable in China but I think it will really help her career and skills playing in Europe.

According to sources, it is not easy for chinese to play volleyball in another country. There are a lot of requirements which most of the chinese players do not meet for them to play abroad. I guess this leaves them with no other choice but to play locally. As far as I know it's only Zhu Thing has been able to play abroad.

What I like of tianjin, minas, Praia and other teams is that players are mostly of the team's country, very few foreign players, so they are growing their own talents, while Turkish teams are just picking the strongest girls everywhere else in the world by offering great salaries

Exactly my point. While Brazil only allows small figures of foreigners in their league, China is famous for being full of themselves. Tianjin only had Vargas, and when she's injured, nothing they could do.

This is club volleyball. All „elite“ teams are collecting best players around the world. Italian clubs have a lot of foreigners, too. This is how you do it 😉! Other teams don‘t have foreigners, cause they simply don‘t have enough budget 😂. They would do the same, if they could. By the way, Tianjin has Vargas, but she is injured. So she couldn‘t play. You can still hate on Türkiye without embarrassing yourself 😂. Noone critizes Real Madrid for having picked the best players around the world. Turkish clubs are dominating club Volleyball for years. And Vakıf is the equivalent of Real Madrid in volleyball.
