"It pains me a liitle bit, to open this but, I just have to fondle it. It's what I do." A lot of people won't understand that but I get you 100%. What a beautiful little piece of art.
@@rhanson1124 Yeah there’s something so special about it. This is a few percent of my total portfolio and yet it already gives me more joy than all my stocks. Money on a screen is just so lifeless and abstract.
@@preciousmetalswithleif8939 What style or brand of gold bar would you classify as top 2 or 3 favorite? I personally really like the PAMP Suisse Lady Fortuna Veriscan, The Royal Mint Britannia or Valcambi, although I have never seen a Royal Mint Britannia bar even available for sale lol.
@@preciousmetalswithleif8939 The allure for gold is unique compared to other precious metals. I have silver in bar and coin form and yet it doesn't nearly appeal to me like the gold bars do. I personally do not care too much about acquiring gold coin but that's just me.
We need to normalize liberating bars out of their blister. Manufacturers should sell them in capsules or closeable enclosures too, with some security features.
My heart pounding when u cut it open😭😭 Such a beautiful piece of metal. I have those and the ard 6 pcs Suisse 10g bar.. Still painful to open even 1. The urge to open it is still very strong even having it like almost 2years. Arrrgghhh!!!!
Subscriber number 211 very well done I wanted to cut open a few of my bars but after watching this I’m pretty satisfied. Well done 👍🏻 savage stacker over and out
Valcambi's quality is beautiful. Thank you for the video, although, I had a little anxiety about the knife possibly slipping 😮. Seriously, though great pickup. I am inspired to purchase a Valcambi Gold Bar myself.
I say take the plunge! Only thing I regret is not getting a bigger one, would be nice with something a little more substantial to the touch! But gold gets so crazy expensive
Watching you cut it gave me anxiety! Beautiful bar i have no valcambi i want one but pamp veriscan sells it for me every time wish valcambi would do something like that!
Not much, it will always have its full gold value but the premium at which I can sell it will for sure go down. However premiums on gold are so low, my loss will be in the range of a few percent :)
The moment you buy the bar you lose its premium, and the premium for such bars are around 80 to 100 dollars above the spot price. People make profits off Gold by selling them when the prices go higher, and when such thing happens, you will make your profit + little bit of premium (20 to 50 dollars) per piece IF you had really been taking care of the bar/coin that you had in your portofolio.
I purchased a 20 gram valcambi a few years ago. It was sold as secondary and came in a transparent open sleave. I haven't taken it out as of yet. I feel like it will be ruined if i touch it
@@AmericanBulldogFit Actually most of them do! And they have the equipment to test it without opening package. For modern bullion in package they pay spot or very close to. But if opened they'll only buy at scrap value. They have a much more trouble reselling it if not in good condition assay card so modern naked bars that should be in a card but isn't usually just go back to a refinery. Might be that you don't care if it's in a card or not but most people do so naturally for the seller to be able to have a business he'll pay less. But hey if you don't care ask him if he got any "naked" bars for a good price if you're going to open it anyway :)
@@preciousmetalswithleif8939 Does it though? I thought only coins carried that kind of premium whereas most bars just are the price in weight+ whatever you paid for dealer %?
@@preciousmetalswithleif8939 Thanks for clarifying that because I stick to bars mostly. However I have 1 American Buffalo and I would get more if the price is right 🙂
With 24K gold all of them are worth the same really. But a more recognised brand may be possible to sell quicker etc. So if you can get Austrian mint much cheaper then always buy that. If price is the same: buy the one that is most famous in your country 👍
@@preciousmetalswithleif8939 the famous one in my country indonesia is Antam LM brand You can collect it. Pretty simple and high quality with LBMA standard 24k 999.9 fine gold Try it
Premiums are always much higher in the smaller values. Generally much less then 1/4 coins and 10 grams bars doesn't really make sense and even then it's still better to go 20 gram bar or 1 oz coin. Sure there might be good deals on something lower from time to time but that's the general rule. For instance for me locally the 1 Ducat is the #1 best buy in its size range - not far from the full oz coins in terms of premium. But that may not last forever so do the math and make wise decisions based on your budget and buying power. For 1 gram bars it seems Tavex has the best offer at the moment (branded bar from Nadir Metal Refinery in Istanbull) in the Scandinavian region. Significantly lower premium than 1 gram Valcambi. But really don't buy 1 gram bars unless for gift. Even 5 gram bars are much better buys even though they're not that great deals.
@@preciousmetalswithleif8939 You need a sharp tanto blade. The tip makes it 10x easier. Your knife has the rounded, curved blade. Tanto blades are better for cutting plastic and cardboard because of the straight blade and tip. I don't want to open my gold. The CRKT M16 is a good knife. I got the mini 4 inch version. I paid like $30-$40 for it on eBay auction. I can shave with that knife. That's all you need. You'll be cutting plastic and cardboard like butter.
Dude. I thought u had to buy alot to make money nope. I got 15 grans last year off ebay in 1gram and 5 gram denominations and payed around 43$ a gram its now 56$ a gram. Im buying more!
I thought holding a real piece of gold would be a more fantastic feeling then it was... Next time i want a bigger goldBAR rather then a goldSTAMP. BUT, gold is gold and i love shiny things.
Or how about a Krugerrand, Gold Eagle or Perhaps something a little more exotic like the 100 Coronas, 50 Pesos or 100 Francs? They're all in the 1 oz ball park (50 Pesos a little step above) and has been made to withstand handling and not quite as small as stamps. Great to feel the weight of them! Plus they don't really loose much premium compared to an "unboxed" gold bar unless they're heavily scarred. Many reasons I switched to coins. If you're not a big kahuna doing kilobars or even 400 oz bars then coins are really the best option and if you can afford and justify it then the 1 oz ball park is usually where the best value for money is. Easier to verify with simple tools and no "certificate" (it's the easiest part to fake anyway) to worry about. Might be a tiny bit more expensive than 1 oz bars but should be well returned when selling - especially if selling privately which coins are a lot easier to do than bars.
@@preciousmetalswithleif8939 Only happy that my comments are read 🙃 I'm in the verge myself to pull the trigger on a 100 Corona - seems to fit the crazy world right now (corona lol) and it has low premiums at the moment - even a hair better than Krugerrand. But I admit it's a difficult decision. Are the prices we see now only temporarely until lets say fall when most countries have vaccinated most of their population for corona or is this the new price of gold? I can afford one and even 3 coins should it be no issue but if prices falls it would be a bummer. Not because I'd be ruined but because I could have waited and got more :D By the way the new Britannia is also one that I might buy but for some odd reason Tavex is not selling it in Denmark. Oh well. Could always buy at BullionByPost instead now they got free shipping to a few countries - incl. mine. I bought a Sovereign a month ago just to try it out - went over all expectations. I must admit when all this corona crazyness started I was on the verge to sell my two 100 grams bars, keep the cash and buy them (or rather coins) again when the crazyness died. That was March 2020 and I can still sell them for quite a bit more than I bought them for years back. So so far it has been good I didn't sell them! Happy stacking!
@@HifiCentret It will be interesting to monitor prices now for sure. We have both the low interest monetary policy in all of the west bumping up prices of goods like gold but also the ghost of Corona will live on for quite a while and perhaps put a lid on the economy. For me, I have no idea where we are headed so all I can do is diversify. Some physical metals, some stocks, a little cash, etc. Then at least whatever fails doesnt totally ruin me 👩🍳
Hi whats brand of bullion bar you would recomend? Give me number And would you like to try to open Antam Gold from indonesia? Its LBMA certified too so its ok
