Beautiful noise. I grew up listening to the Valenta screaming past my house when I was a kid. Fantastic memories.

Part of the soul of the HST has been ripped out since the Valenta was replaced. The MTU just doesnt suit the trains spirit. Wish they'd never replaced the old engines. Also the 'fag packet' livery was the smartest post privatisation one on these trains. Before they started putting pink and blue on them, just to match the crappy buses in the First Group. Ahh that's the way its gone though.
