Kid is a pure slasher. He can draw fouls like crazy and finish. He’s got great motor, and he’s a hawk on defense. The only thing he doesn’t have is a jumper, for now. If he gets a jumper, he’s going to be elite
He scored 20 ppg last year in the G-league. Why do people keep saying he can't score. The incorrect narratives have gotten out of control in all sports. I think the argument is that he can’t shoot, not that he can’t score. He shot 24% from deep in the G league. With that said who are we to say that an 18-19 year old kid isn’t allowed to develop and improve at something. He’s got a high ceiling and that’s what the pistons need, we’re not good enough to be drafting players with high floors.😂
Trajan did the same thing that Brad did with Gibbs. We need to trust Trajan like we do Brad. Give him a chance to do his thing, then critique. I get sick of these instant reactions. People forget that Ron was the consensus #1 pick before he opted to go to the G-League Ignite instead of going to college and the Ignite sucked. Ron average 20ppg despite only shooting 24% from three. He already has all the other tools. Can switch 1-4. Gets in the passing lanes. Averaged about two steals per game. Offers rim protection. You’ll see some blocks littered throughout his highlights. He’s a hustle rebounder. Similar to Ausar,he gives max effort on the glass. He is very athletic, and he’s a great teammate and facilitator for his size. Trajan took what he deemed was BPA, and we need to give him a shot to do things his way. I love this pick the more I think about it. Absolute worst case scenario, Ron is a hustle rebounding defensive oriented wing that puts pressure on the rim and can facilitate.
He's basically a bigger, stronger version of Bruce Brown, someone I liked when he was here. As for his shooting, this is why you hired Fred Vinson. From Lonzo to Brandon Ingram to Herb Jones, he's been a shot doctor for them and can likely do the same for Holland and Ausar.
Outside of obvious org/Monty flaws. Why ( on the court) did the pistons lose... was it 3 point shooting, defense, scoring, defense, defense, defense? If holland comes to play like ausar.. you can live without the heavy 3 ball. Just changed the system and make it fit. It's the PISTONS WAY!

I like the pick, one of those bigs available was never going to fit with Duren. We have to rebuild the rebuild anyway so why not take the super athletic project wing. Low floor super high ceiling. I never wavered on the Pistons,they are young,I saw the potential in all of them.Now with Vinson on staff I'm even that much more excited about them.THEY ARE YOUNG AND GIFTED.Monty was not a developer,really didn't like his hire.He delayed them, instead of building up he confused them,self doubt.Now with Bickerstaff and Vinson they're going to improve each and every one of them.Can you imagine Duren and Stewart with Jumpers?Lets see how fast they learn,and don't be surprised.Keep the Faith.All is not broken,just Tweaking.

When you get to pick from a good crop, you look at everything and get a feel for the best cob in the bunch. When you're picking from the garbage heap, you have to have a vision of what it could be, and think you can make your imagination into a realization. This draft had no sure things even at one, let alone five. The Holland pick shows you're taking a shot at finding greatness, or you just found another clunker, along with quite possibly every other team because this draft is hot garbage.
