Alexa's performance was great, but Valentina was not in peak form. In the first round, before the first punches and kicks are thrown, you could really see that she was unusually stiff and flat footed. With Alexa she faced someone that was able to immediately capitalize on it. I really hope she gets that rematch, she's one of my favourite fighters.

@@KrikZ32 That level of competition for her career since she was 14 is truly remarkable. I don’t think she’s done, I think she will regear differently and take the belt again just to make a Valentina statement. Perhaps her priorities and goals have changed as I imagine they would.

I wouldn’t say had it in the bag. She was losing the exchanges in terms of striking and seemed afraid to engage at times because Grasso was hurting her. Though she was winning the fight, the possibility of her getting finished wasn’t unlikely

She only had rounds 2 and 3 decisively, she clearly lost round 1 and round 4 was still up in the air She was struggling in a majority of the exchanges and threw that kick in a panic to force Grasso off of her. Even without that kick she most likely would’ve went to a decision loss because Grasso started stuffing the takedowns at the very end and was still landing clean on her

Been a fan of Valentina ever since she came in the UFC, but I’m also seeing the slowing down in her last fights. Before she dictated how the fight went, but lately it seems like she’s reacting to what her opponents do.

I agree. I am Mexican but i was rooting for Valentina. Been a fan of hers for years even before grasso hit the scene. I Can see that. She ended up taking it to be able to do some type of trilogy and have back to back Mexican fighters.
