They're from Mid Morning Matters. First aired as a RU-vid series in 2010 as part of a sponsor with Fosters. Then moved to Sky where they did a second series. Definitely worth checking out, it's peak Partrige imo.

I suspect a great deal of Alan's issues revolve around the treatment doled out to him by his dad combined with ongoing grief after his death. Very sad.

It doesn't matter if the character is fictional, we know he's fictional but he's well written

Fair enough if you don't find him funny, but you surely have to appreciate the performance? The facial expressions, the timing, the nuance in the phrasing, the amount of lines crammed into 3 minutes (even if you don't find them funny). Humour is subjective, but Coogan's technicality transcends opinion....in my opinion. I get where your coming from though, I've never once laughed at John Robins, but if people find him funny he must be funny regardless
