We have a variety of Valerian locally where I live here in Alaska. I personally have not utilized the local variety but have in the past used commercially available Valerian root for insomnia and it seemed to be effective. Thumbs up on the video.
Lonnie I truly wished it would have worked to link up with you even if it were a short visit! Next time!! My daughter and I are Alaska bound in a day and have a couple of videos planned I want to do while there! And thank you for the thumbs up!!!! Cool to know a variety of valerian is in Alaska!!!
Having been raised in southeast Texas, I have made many trips across and into south Louisiana, and I know it to be almost a nature paradise. I have many good memories of times spent there. It's a beautiful place. Living in northwest Arkansas now, which is very beautiful in its own way.
Hi, Karen. I don't know if Valerian grows around here, but I have recently obtained a packet of seeds. I haven't planted them yet, but planning to start them in a container. That odor that Valerian exudes is nearly identical to the odor of the rare and expensive Spikenard, which is an essential ingredient in some fragrances, and is one of the three precious perfumes mentioned in the New Testament. I take one Valerian capsule every night at bedtime and I sleep very soundly. I plan to make a tincture of any that I grow. God bless you!
How are you doing Wayne!? I truly hope you and your family are well. Thank you for sharing this wonderful information. Sometimes I have a valerian tea a couple hours before bed nut I add a bit of honey and organic apple cider vinegar. I will have to do this tonight. My husband and I bought a dream (small) home on a bit of land and we sold our house. We move Aug 6! If the stress of packing isn't enough I have to pack today as my daughter and I are going to Alaska tomorrow. 2 1/2 week trip!! Thank goodness the good Lord has my back!
